Iv sedation and copd
I am a new member to this forum after recently being diagnosed with moderate upper lobe
emphysema
and traction bronchiectasis with early honeycomb change. I am due to have 3 teeth implants with sinus lifts, which will take about 2 hours. I have opted for iv sedation and local anaesthesia.

Lung function tests
Hi All I've been having lung function tests at the hospital, I thought, because of my lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis &
emphysema
. I've done various breaths blowing & inhaling into a spirometry machine. The last one I had to go into a cubicle & air was cut off for 10 seconds.

Worried out mind
The consultants exact words were he does not think I have
emphysema
my FEV 1 score is ridicules low. I'm 44 and 6.1 and not overweight if this matter. His exact works were. "His sprirometric technique was inconsistent and difficult to interpret.

Tuberculosis
I have
emphysema
and bronchiectasis and this news was a bit of a shock. The TB nurse is visiting me tomorrow to guide me through the medication I will need (mainly various antibiotics) but I am still totally shocked as I thought TB had been eliminated from this country.

Emphysema
I had a chest X-ray last week and have been told today by my doctor I have
emphysema
. I am very worried about this. Many websites say life expectancy is 5 years! I don't know how bad it is but I am assuming I have moderate
emphysema
as it showed up on the X-ray.

Progression stage 2 emphysema
Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with stage 2
emphysema
with a 55% FEV1. I am a 35 year old male and at the moment I don't really feel the affects of it, other than getting slightly breathless when walking up 4 flights of stairs!

A “Touch” of emphysema
Had an x ray and was told I had a touch of
emphysema
. I’m 70 and feel fine and I haven’t had a cigarette in over 12 years, he said I’ve probably had it all this time but it just never got worse and stayed very mild! What’s peoples thoughts on this?

After lobectomy
No copd or
emphysema
. I was back to work in 2 weeks. No further treatments. Pretty easy recovery for me overall. My problem-question is that I am still pretty short of breath at times. Yesterday I saw a pulmonologist. I had a chest X-ray, alls good. Breathing study better than he expected it to be.
