Behcet's and sinus problems
Using saline rinse and taking an
echinacea
supplement at the first sign of a cold helped a lot. Doing so also helped prevent the cold from developing into a sinus infection. I haven't had a sinus infection within the last three years.

Preventing colds??
The only thing I do is take
echinacea
, and only one that has sufficient quantities to allegedly be able to work (supposed to give your immunity a boost) but I am not sure I believe in that either.

How can I boost my immune system?
Also, is it a good idea to take
echinacea
to ward off further colds? I've had my flu and pneumonia jabs. My current dosage is 12.5 mg daily of pred and 15 mg weekly of methotrexate.

Another surprising visit
I had a prescription of
Echinacea
to boost my immunity and bronchovaxom I get every year which is immunotherapy for respiratory problems. And another appointment for Dec 14th in case I don’t overcome it by myself. I am so looking forward to go to see the LAM specialist on Nov 7th.

Science or Snake Oil: does EASEaCOLD really help to shorten your cold?
Some, such as
echinacea
and garlic, may help to prevent a cold, or reduce its length or severity if taken prior to the cold’s onset. But good hygiene may be more effective (and cheaper!) in preventing a cold."

My functional med doc prescribed withania and
echinacea
. After taking them for a couple months I felt that my throat puff up and it has been challenging to swallow so I have stopped taking them today and have felt less pressure in my throat area.

Hope and Healing
And because mine is viral, I took some immune boosting supplements:
echinacea
and Dandilion roots, vitamin c, and zinc. And neem, a very strong natural anti-viral. After two months and feeling normal, I cut my supplements down to one week on and two weeks off, and graviola tea once a week.

Update since my post a few weeks ago
Having said that I have been taking good care of myself, taking slow release vitamin C, vitamin D and
echinacea
tablets along with the prescribed tablets to reduce acid reflux. Another thing I have found to have amazing medical benefits is good old fashioned water!

ECHINACEA
Any views on taking
echinacea
. Had a bad cold and been taking this herb in capsule form for 3 days. It has stopped most of the cold symptoms, so I was impressed. Now I read that it is contra indicative for auto immune illnesses. Any views on this please. Thanks for any advice.
