Oral Molecule PD13R Safely Eases Dyskinesia Tied to Levodopa in Primate Model
Notably, in contrast to Gocovri (amantadine) — an approved therapy to treat levodopa-induced
dyskinesia
— PD13R did not affect the animals’ sleep, suggesting this new molecule may be a safer as well as effective in treating
dyskinesia

Does Ongentys work in the body or the gut?
Never mind - Says to take on empty stomach (no eating 1 hour before or after). So in my case would make no difference. So, maybe the question is does Ongentys work only because of (no eating 1 hour before or after).

PD Effect on Sleep
With advanced PD she would sometimes experience excessive
dyskinesia
, which she took amantadine to control. Though the amantadine did work to calm her body, unfortunately it also tended to keep her awake, sometimes the entire night.

Cannabis and its derivatives for the use of motor symptoms in Parkinson’s disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Only one study reported statistically significant improvement in
dyskinesia
(p < 0.05). The intervention was generally well tolerated. All RCTs had a high risk of bias.

It also may help later on, if a person develops involuntary movement (
dyskinesia

What do you think of Low-Dose Lithium?
1) How long have you taken? [Since 1/6/22 (18 days)] 2) What improvements have you noticed? [Positive effect on Mood, Less Anxiety, more Social.] 3) What improvements in PD have you noticed? [I feel very positive, but too early to tell for sure. I have cut back on on l-dopa (5 to 4 a day).] 4) What

DRUG REPURPOSING - DOES IT WORK? by Dr. Simon Stott
"The answer to the question in the title of this post is “Yes, drug repurposing does work” and in this short blog we shall discuss examples of its utility in Parkinson’s. But first it would be wise to explain the drug development process and why drug repurposing is an exciting area of research that is

What meds do you take for bipolar disorder?
I've recently switched from lamotrigine and ziparasidone (started causing tardive
dyskinesia
) to valproex acid, Latuda, and Concerta (a stimulant). But now I feel nauseated all the time and have lost my optimism, and it's been 4 months trying to make these meds work.

AMPA Receptor Excitotoxicity and neurodegeneration.
First, CP-AMPARs are involved in the expression of L-DOPA-induced
dyskinesia
in PD (Kobylecki et al., 2010). Second, the CP-AMPAR-induced loss of dopamine neurons in the midbrain causes PD-related depression (Zhang et al., 2019).

Low-Dose Niacin Supplementation Improves Motor Function in US Veterans with Parkinson’s Disease: A Single-Center, Randomized, Placebo-Contro
A single-center, randomized, placebo-controlled study finds that low-dose niacin supplementation improves motor function in US Veterans with #Parkinsons; N=47, 6 months double blind followed by 6 months open label; Treatment well tolerated. "Niacin is, therefore, a promising choice as an adjunct therapy
