Eliminating Sinemet
If I understand correctly, sinemet is effective because of its C-dopa component, which protects much of the L-dopa from being broken down into the unabsorbable
dopamine
form, by an enzyme abbreviated AADC.

Possible cause of Parkinson's
I'm just wondering if it could have been a gut flora problem, which I read recently might be linked to the death of
dopamine
producing neurons in the brain. Anybody else have this problem before being diagnosed? Could be big...or not.

Finally help.. đ
As a side note My neurologist advised my that i should come off any
dopamine
agonists as they in time will burn out my
dopamine
receptors.. Leaving my body with no chance of recovery.. 'Thinking of everyone out there living with rls. We will keep battling on.' Regards Peter.

I think he needs some source of
dopamine
boost. He tried nutrivita MP but took too much and got dizzy, disoriented, and nauseus so he is afraid to try that again. Suggestions? Timing and dose?

ADD and addiction to whatever gives good emotions..
It's hard to explain, but I'll try: I can't concentrate, I mostly oscillate between times where I don't want to study because it doesn't give me my
dopamine
high (because the reward is AFTER the effort) to times where I got my
dopamine
high so I'm less and less interested in anything that doesn't.

Update. Itching. Kidney Cancer but no connection.
non-thyroidal illness, or
dopamine
or glucocorticoid treatment. Please repeat in 6 - 8 weeks or as appropriate. I have to see my g.p. to discuss the thyroid blood results next month and I shall be happy to tell her what this specialist has said about my thyroid.

7 Years quit đ
I don't crave cigarettes, but I do crave the
dopamine
hit I used to get from smoking. Fortunately, I get my
dopamine
fix from a healthy source now: yoga. All the best to those starting the quit journey. It is possible and a better life is the reward.đ

What's working for me, at least sort of
When I read about it over and over, I researched it and was able to present my primary care doc with ample evidence of why it would be foolish to insist that I follow the traditional route of
dopamine
agonists. THANK YOU for sparing me the agony many of you have gone through!

Stress and Parkinson's
We propose that the patientâs long history of meditation practice may have been one con- tributing factor of this improvement as meditation has been shown to release
dopamine
in the striatum. ------

A little chilli this evening
The
dopamine
diet by Tom Kerridge. However due to work pressure in January I am excused cooking duties so Mrs WTP has tried a few. This chilli with green beans and cauliflower couscous is just stunning.

Can certain probiotics increase dopamine
This is intriguing because the one thing people with RLS and Parkinsonâs disease is low
dopamine
. I wonder if taking these probiotics could help increase
dopamine
.

Medication other than DA?!
I was just wondering what other treatment is available beside
dopamine
agonists? Should I ask my gp about codeine (I do worry about taking too much paracetamol in the cocodamol) or is there something else?

Has anyone been on naltrexone for alcohol cravings?
I just read that it block serotonin and
dopamine
.ââ That seems like it wouldnât be good for someone suffering depression. The page I was reading also said that one of the side effects of drinking while on naltrexone was depression.

Madopar Advice
Could this be a sign of reduced
Dopamine
in my system and the medication topping it up ? OR 2. Could it be a sign of too much Madopar leading to "overdose" symptoms ? Anyone else experience this ?

Can augmentation be avoided on DA's?
I am aware from the horror stories on here of the dangers of augmentation from taking
dopamine
agonists. But I am wondering whether it's possible to avoid augmentation by keeping the dose low and also not taking them every day- maybe every other day.
