I am on In center HD for about 6 weeks and I hate it. They say that HD removed toxins from the blood. Can someone tell what toxins it removes from the blood? I know it removes potassium and phosphorus and sugar. What other ingredients? I will highly appreciate the info. Thanks

ICU mind baffling, post-induced coma ??
I was intubated from the start , tracheostomy and ventilator, and also had to have 4 complete blood transfusions and
dialysis
due to contracting sepsis early on in the coma .

He had 2 blood transfusions today and 3 hrs of
dialysis
. I don't want any time of work until I absolutely have too. I think work would be ok about having time off . I want to try and carry on as much as possible. Thank you everyone for your kind replies. Take care everyone.

I am struggling: Female, single, no husband, and no children, 33 years old
She was on
dialysis
from late September to November. Now, for January 14, 2023, they are putting her back on
dialysis
. In the past 6 months,
dialysis
caused her going back to the ER for blood transfusions. And, she was diagnosed with pneumonia.

2 or 3 x’s per week - any benefit to more/fewer
However, I also jumped from basically no awareness of kidney anything to stage 3–>stage4/5, 5–>
Dialysis
(boom.boom.boom. Just. Like. That). So, my kidneys seem to be progressing extremely fast if this is all correct.

Snow Queen
It has me thinking will this be the last first snow that I will not be on
dialysis
. I am trying not to think that way. It's just hard. But you know I'm going to put a bright spin on it.

My Mayo Clinic journey and dialysis
I'm still going going to
dialysis
three days a week. The problem that is happening, is I'm cramping every time. When it happens it usually three hours into the treatment. I hope the doctor will reduce my time. This past ten months have been, one emotional rollercoaster.

ACUTE KIDNEY INJURY due to BK VIRUS
Anyone here suffered from AKI after transplant that has to undergo
dialysis
for the kidney to recover? Transplanted kidney is not severely damaged on biopsy but creatinine is high due to active BK VIRUS.

Why can’t I breathe and move? Advice needed.
I had
dialysis
and a month later, after my heart which had been in A Fib since February and wouldn't fall below 168 bmp I was given Abulation (removal of AV node) and a CRT. I felt so much better and could breathe.

The Queen Who?
I'm trying not to worry too much about what
dialysis
will be like and how life will change . This adds another layer to it living with a spinal cord injury, going to school, working and needing a kidney. I know I'll be okay and life will change, but honestly life never stays the same anyway.

My last medicine reacted with my cholesterol medicine and I ended up having acute kidney failure and had to go through several weeks of
dialysis
, my kidneys came back. I’m feeling better, but I’m just curious about this medicine.

Not convinced
dialysis
did not play a role in this issue. If anyone has experienced this type of issue, please let me know what you did to ease the headaches. I really need to stay in treatment, but it is getting hard. Some thoughts I have had: It could potentially be caffeine withdrawal.

He is having
dialysis
4 times a week and blood transfusions too. He's in pain, constantly screaming pain! I saw him today, he had just come back from a CT scan and hopefully we will get the results tomorrow. I went with his son Paul today.

Intubation could become a relic of the Covid era
Think of it like a kidney
dialysis
machine but for blood oxygenation. Even though the ART500 requires only a relatively small amount of blood (about one liter), the method can raise the oxygenation level of a patient to the “safe zone” of 95% in 60 seconds.

APPROVED FOR KIDNEY TRANSPLANT BUT NEED A DONOR...HOW DO I GET MY STORY OUT? So scared about dialysis before getting a kidney.
Hi Sweet Friends.... hope everyone is hanging in there and doing well. I was approved for transplant at Mayo and am so grateful. My dear husbandand wanted to give me on of his kidneys but during his testing they found dangerously low platelets and found he has idiopathic ITP. After 2 hospitalizations

MRI QUESTION
My creatinine could support the contrast, but didn't know what the mesh for the
dialysis
grafts is constructed of. I would have to ask a vascular surgeon. Does anyone know?
