I'm new. My mom is in the ICU. She's 49 her birthday is next month. We're all staying strong for her.
She went to her
dialysis
that day. After she was done my sister's took her to the ER. The doctor told my dad and sister's that moms eyes is yellow. Doctor was hoping that it wasn't due to liver problems which turned out to be just that. They sedated her to put the breathing tube in.

PD - Back in the Saddle again - A Valentines story
I go in Tuesday (Valentines day) to find out how the labs that they took last week show my
dialysis
is working. I had to do a 48hour urine collection, and then take a sample from an effluent drain bag and take it in to the clinic. This will let us know if my prescription should be adjusted.

As regards what else happened to me, collapsed lung ,kidney failure leading to
dialysis
, something I cannot remember what is called that needed to be extracted from between my lungs and looked like cottage cheese the inception for which led to cellulitis, bedsore on foot tracheostomy, obviously pain

Fed Up with everything.
The thought of spending the next few years either at work or on
dialysis
with no social life or a chance to go on holiday is really soul destroying. Sorry for having a rant. Just when you get your head around all this @#%@ ..its one step forward about 10 back 😞😞.

Please I would appreciate some honest feedback - I feel now that I don't really have a chance of avoiding
dialysis
- my next blood test is due in Feb 23. I am so scared now - what have those doctors done to me.

Father not waking up after septic shock
He was critically stable and on ventilation,
dialysis
and on heavy heart medication (noadrenaline). Later we found out he had to be revived too for 10 minutes. Time went by and he got more and more stable each day.

Muscle cramps
I was wondering if anyone experiences foot cramps in the pre
dialysis
stage. Im generally well, but recently have been getting these painful cramps but dont want to unduly panic about it by calling my dr. So easy to become slightly hypochondriac with this disease.

Nausea and dizziness CKD stage 3b no albuminuria
I am worried sick that this is a prelude to the inevitable heart attack, a fate that awaits most non
dialysis
patients in stage 3b.  I have alerted his PCP who has not responded yet. Looking for advice and feedback. Thanks, grateful for this forum.

It caused kidney failure and I was on
dialysis
for about a year. My kidneys are now at 30%. Over the past 5 years, I have had more and more body aches. Of course I’m 71 years old and I know that doesn’t help but I feel like my symptoms go beyond the age factor.

 Reducing phlebotomy in hemodialysis patients
Is there any kind of advocacy that would permit physicians to submit lab draw requests to outpatient
dialysis
units. I have found my
dialysis
unit is very reluctant to do this even though the physicians making the request are in the same hospital system.

Snow Queen... ha ha ha...
I just feel a sense of urgency to be active on the list and to have surgery if I need it, before I would need to be on
dialysis
. I'm guessing some of you have felt a sense of urgency to get on the transplant list.

Part Time PD
Has anyone with good numbers (hemoglobin, potassium, phosphorus, etc) ever tried "part time" Peritoneal
Dialysis
? Meaning like 3 days a week, or 4 days a week, rather than 7? Let me know, I'd like to build a case to talk with my Neph about this idea.
