Waking up
She’s still on the vent and is also having
dialysis
. I guess my question is, is it normal to take a long time to wake? She’s also not responding to any commands. I talk to her every time I see her. she’s had a CT head scan which hasn’t shown anything concerning from a neurological perspective.

So sad
Today I lost my first friend at
dialysis
. He was a charming gentleman who always made me laugh. We engaged in friendly conversations before and after
dialysis
. He came in slumped in his wheelchair not wanting to talk. I found out later that he died on his way home from
dialysis
.

Not waking after sedation weaned
At one point his cardio output was at 15%, was on full ventilator, and
dialysis
for his kidney. After about 10 days the infection and fever seemed to clear up. On Friday they stopped the sedation to try and bring him around… It has now been 72 hours and he has still not woke up.

sister in induced coma.
She is on a ventilator,
dialysis
, blood pressure meds, so many wires and machines. It’s breaking my heart. My dad has barely left her side. Slept for 2 hours if that in days. The plan is to bring her out of sleep and see how she goes in another day or so.

New to PD - questions
Hello everyone, I have recently been diagnosed with IgA nephropathy and needed to urgently start
dialysis
due to my GFR being less than 10. I am currently in my training for PD and had some questions: - when you started showering with your exit site exposed, did it sting a little?

Peritoneal dialysis and Neck pain at night during exchanges ……any help? Asking for my mother
She had similar neck pain before she started
dialysis
. They have been adjusting the type of fluid she uses within the last 1-2 months as she wasn’t filtering as well as she used to and was worried her membranes were starting to fail. Any suggestion? Any home remedies?

undecided should I ask for a second opinion
To day I was told clearly that if I don’t have the stent it will be
dialysis
and ultimately organ failure. I asked why can’t I have chemo or maintenance I’m BRCA 2. Dr said if they remove mass it could be considered. I just get mixed messages from two different tumour sites.

Queen's tell all
I know I'm not on
dialysis
but like a sled on an incline. I'll slowly or quickly at some point get there. I put a letter up on facebook and hoped that it would bring me luck but i haven't heard anything yet. I would love to skip
dialysis
and maybe it could happen.

Kidneys on way out - dialysis experience anyone?
Dialysis
is the only option. Peritoneal
dialysis
is out due to existing internal hernia and other issues. Does anyone has any experience with fistula and
dialysis
? His nephrologist is suggesting stretching out the kidneys as long as possible, and then doing permcath - and then fistula.

Medicare and Transplant
Thankfully, he didn’t have to go on
dialysis
. We were preparing for that and was told the
dialysis
center would be doing the Medicare paperwork. I’m concerned that we’re going to miss the window of opportunity to sign up. Especially for the cost of the transplant surgery.

A fun night in the hospital
They could have slapped me into
dialysis
and gave me a medication that could have caused brain damage. The thing is my potassium usually runs high like over 5.2 for the last couple of years because of eating Plant based and I am on a BP med that raises potassium.

Newly diagnosed with CKD and preoccupied with what this means for the future
So, do I just continue to monitor creatine levels and urine for protein until reaches a threshold for
dialysis
, then I’m forever tied to home for PD or making sure there’s a HD center near by?

Spoke to nephrologist.
In this country they wait until you are gfr 6 or 7 before they put you on
dialysis
and mine is 21 at the moment so I wouldn't be considered for the transplant list just yet. I mentioned the fact that I am group O and incompatible with other groups apart from my own.

Living vs. Deceased Donor?
I live in CO and the kidney wait for me is 7 years long : ((( I have been on
dialysis
for 2 years. I am pursuing a living donor. Any feedback would be so appreciated regarding how to find one.

Dialysis
is very hard on ones body and I get a lot of severe headaches after treatment . I know medi-care will pay for your
dialysis
whether you do home or clinic treatments.

Dialysis Day very anxiety provoking
I have already reached out in
dialysis
support but not very many helpful suggestions that I have not already tried. I also take Ativan before each session And this does not help either.
