Hoping that I can get one real soon, I'm not on
dialysis
yet so would love one before. It scares me a lot all of this stuff I think about life and work. I truly hope that I can find someone out there.

Cutting days down for elderly grandparent
Thankfully she hasn’t forgotten the main things like where she lives or who she is but could this be a result of
dialysis
or old age?

Intro
I'm not on
dialysis

Obsessed with Dad’s labs
Dialysis
seems like I’d be hurting him more than helping. Moms 88 and I’m an only child and the only brain left to make the hard call.

Foot pain after induced coma
Was given
dialysis
over the entire time she was in ICU. She had so may problems and with a secondary pneumonia and the difficulty in keeping her vitals level, she flatlined twice. She was on ECMO for 44 days. The docs told us she had a very small chance of survival.

Partner of kidney patient looking for support
In October, he had the abdominal catheter added for home peritoneal
dialysis
and is currently being trained on how to do it. He will likely begin treatment at home next week.

Finally maybe some relief..Good news for me..
At this point he said
dialysis
will probably be in the future.. He believes the best way to go is to put me on the kidney transplant list in February after I finish this round of Prednisone and Chemotherapy.. This treatment ends in February..

HEPC Studies and Kidney Transplants
I have been on
dialysis
only 3 years now and I will be 68 years old in 5 years. I will appreciate hearing from someone who has information or experience in this field. From a cursory search, I know that Johns-Hopkins and other transplant hospitals are working with this same HepC study.

Will my Dad ever come off of ventilator?
Was on
dialysis
for 8 weeks, but kidneys have bounced back. No sedation for 1 week. He follows with his eyes and puckers up when asked for a kiss. They say he'll be vent dependent forever. I don't agree. He has severe anxiety normally, and I'm sure that is a factor. Thoughts?

Diagnosed as IgA
Hi I am 27 and was diagnosed as IgA with Creatinine 10.8, I haven't started
dialysis
but will probably start within a few months. Dr showed this community to me and I saw a lot positive stories here. I guess I have to start my own fighting journey.

Living with CKD
For the last 6 months I have been doing nocturnal
dialysis
at home every other day, have just this week changed to 3 nocturnal sessions and two 3 hours evening sessions. This is giving me around 400 litres of clearance per week which as my consultant tells me is as effective as a transplant.

Support for a Type 1 Diabetic - multiple issues
He is on home

GFR
He was diagnosed after me and his GFR was actually higher then mine before it bottomed out and he was placed on
dialysis
, then passed away. My last GFR, this month was 34, the highest it has ever been since 2011 when I first became ill but wasn't diagnosed.

Pre Dialysis and scared!!
I am pre
dialysis
but I think that will be changing soon. I'm scared of what the future holds for me and I wanted to join this group to talk to other people who are going through the same things. I'm so scared of the unknown...especially
dialysis
