Just Keep Pushing
Well today makes 2 years I have been on
dialysis
. It hasn't been the best. But it could be much worse. I think the hardest part for me was accepting that my life was about to change. I'm only 25 and being told my kidney was failing and I had to get on
dialysis
scared.

Question of the week!
Do you work on
dialysis
? If so, do you have tips for managing your work, family and
dialysis
schedules? If not, why not? Did you have to stop working when you started
dialysis
due to health reasons?

Managing home while on dialysis
Hello... So actually did work, worked part-time though. And came home to maintain family. I rested before cooking and while dinner was cooking, on low, I helped with other parts of family like bathing, homework. If u do crockpot meals it's easier, and cook on low that morning or evening before

Delaying dialysis
I'm okay with having surgery for access but want to defer
dialysis
until the ckd had an effect on my life, work, and ability to function, then proceed to
dialysis
. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Rapid Cirrhosis Progression?
Tonight he was placed in the ICU from the ER, and he is intubated and on
dialysis
. I guess my question is - how did he go from walking out of the hospital the first time, to literally being about to pass within the period of a month? Has this happened to anyone else before?

PD Catheter
Tomorrow I visit my vascular surgeon to discuss access surgery for
dialysis
. My nephrologist is suggesting both a fistula and a PD catheter, using the fistula as a backup in the event my PD catheter fails or I get an infection.

The time has come....
My doctor wants me to see a surgeon to have the access point put in for PD
dialysis
. So, I am going for my consultation this morning. I'm scared! Scared of the operation, scared of the recovery time, but mostly scared of
dialysis
!! I miss my old life.

C3G - Knowing the Signs and Symptoms
C3G (DDD or C3GN) can also lead to kidney failure, meaning the kidneys no longer work, and
dialysis
or a kidney transplant are needed to survive. Healthy kidneys remove wastes and extra fluid from the blood.

Why I advocate for Pediatric Kidney Patients
She was one of the first people in Indiana on
dialysis
at the age of 6. This was not in the era of Medicare/ automatic qualification for
dialysis
. Little Maureen and her parents had to fight to get her on lifesaving
dialysis
, and pay $40,000 cash.

Low blood pressure during dialysis causing problems for my elderly mum - anybody else experiencing this?
She has been having
dialysis
3 times a week through a tunnelled line in her chest as she is unable to have fistula and recently has been having problems with hypotension during
dialysis
which is drastically affecting her quality of life on her non
dialysis
days.

Treatments for C3G
If this happens, patients need a kidney transplant or
dialysis
to stay alive. Currently, it is difficult to predict which patients will progress to kidney failure and which patients will not.

Devastated doesn't even cover it..
The worst part wasn't the crying and the migraine that followed, or the back and forth with my
dialysis
team trying to figure out where to go from here as I'm bumbling through tears while waiting for my transplant team to make a decision.
