Help pleae
At the present time I have been having urine infections which do not clear up even after being given antibiotics which are shown to be suitable to kill off the bacteria after the sample has been sent to the lab. I have had infections for well over a year and I have been treated constantly since May.

Late dumping
My husband suffers from late dumping and at times it has developed into something serious and we've needed to call an ambulance with extremely low blood sugar. He had severe mental confusion and limited and slurred speech. Glucose gel and cola did eventually bring him back to normal . I too wonder how

Can anybody translate blood results..
Husband has got a printout of his bloods, and we don't understand what MCH is. His TSH is 0.15 and is marked LO His Glucose is 9.5 and is marked HI but that's ok as he is diabetic, diet controlled and had just eaten. The one I don't understand is MCH which is33 and marked HI. What is MCH?

Hi Everyone, I hope that you are all doing. I have some questions, so please bare with me. How long does it take elevated AST and ALT levels to come down due to fatty liver? What about from a medicine reaction? Is there a difference? Here is why I ask. On February 8th of this year, I fell down

Sudden Loss Of Glucose Control
I've been diabetic for a couple of years and have controlled my raised glucose by diet and medication (metformin + gliclazide) However, two weeks ago, a period of stress seemed to have shot this control to pieces. My readings went up to the high 20's and topped at 32.2 and it now ranges from 18 to 25

Subclinical hypothyroidism and cardiovascular risk
There have been a few mentions of Plasma Viscosity here recently. So seeing this paper I thought it might be of some interest. Note the conclusion refers to
higher cardiovascular risk
. Yet again, a reason to take sub-clinical hypothyroidism seriously. [i]Clin Hemorheol Microcirc. 2014 Jan 1

Why it is that blood sugar is tested after two hours of drinking glucose or food ?
It is always suggested to get fasting and after two hours of food .Is there any reason or logic behind or it is arbitrary ?

Beta cells of pancreas produce another hormone, apart from insulin which has an important role in blood sugar regulation.
Very little is generally known about another hormone co produced with insulin by the beta cells of pancreas. The hormone first reported in 1987 and is called "AMYLIN". The secretory and plasma concentration profiles of insulin and AMYLIN are similar with low fasting concentration and increases in response
