First treatment was Jan. 27, 2021. 16th treatment was yesterday, November 14, 2023…….I feel GREAT…….they started adding
Dexamethasone
on infusion and it is a game changer. …a12-18 hour window of no pain from the DEXA….Normal sequence is 21 days apart for up to initial 6 treatments.

Drug side effects
Last month I went from prediabetic to hitting 300 due to the
Dexamethasone
I've been having to take for my chemo treatments. My oncologist put me on metformin & it brought my level down, but now I've been in & out of the ER.

Coming off Naproxen safely?
I'm also taking low dose
Dexamethasone
. I'd like to come off Naproxen gently and just take Paracetamol. I'm taking 2 x500 mg a day after meals. I'd be grateful for any experience or advice to avoid the risk of clots or a stroke ? Thanks

Low Doses of Dexamethasone as monotherapy in mCRPC
Are there any recent studies that I could show to my dad's doctor? I found some older ones, but not the most recent. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4622618/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3436439/ https://www.researchgate.net/publication/5903550_Efficacy_of_low-dose_dexamethasone_in_castration-refractory_prostate_cancer

Ultimate Update
Dexamethasone
kept brain swelling at bay. Colleagues, friends and family came in from all over. He had a birthday party with family and laughed and dished science until 2 days before his death.

Update on my father
Things moved quickly from there,
dexamethasone
was called in and we picked it up on our way home. I was in complete shock. He had an MRI 2 days later and a referral to a neurosurgeon, they had a tumor board meeting with 8 neuros, only 1 of 8 thought it was from his cancer.

Atrial fibrillation after steroids
I'm due for a knee replacement in 3 weeks' time, and usually the steroid
dexamethasone
is part of the treatment, as it lessens initial pain and inflammation and helps recovery, but I'm afraid it will trigger me back into AF.

Timing of Dexamethasone
I've been on ADT since 2017 and approximately 3 years ago I switched from prednisone to .5mg
dexamethasone
daily with morning meal. I have been having periods of infrequent lightheadedness. I have been through a series of tests and my pcp cannot determine the source.

Updated treatment plan for progressing MCRPC
I am still taking abiraterone and
dexamethasone
and it is not working, PSA has been climbing. My Question is, should I switch the abiraterone for enzalutamide. There is some evidence for switching these drugs if one is no longer working. Apparently the
dexamethasone
is not good for bone health.

Switching from prednisone to dexamethasone with abiraterone
My reason for believing that switching to
dexamethasone
might lower my BP is based on data from publications such as Attard as summarized in an Allen Edel blog: https://www.prostatecancer.news/2019/06/how-much-prednisone-is-needed-with.html If you've switched to
dexamethasone
, have you seen any effect

8/4/23 Update questions for MO
Switching from prednisone to
dexamethasone
before you give up on abiraterone 3. Choose from and possibly combine: Taxotere, Xtandi, Xofigo, and Provenge. 4. Switch to xtandi or Casodex 5. Try docetaxel, which works by directly killing cancer cells, but can have substantial side effects, 6.

Left zytiga in another state
my husband forgot his zytiga and
dexamethasone
at home in Mississippi. We are in Texas for his father’s funeral which is Saturday. Can anyone help us problem solve. How much of a problem is it if he misses 3 doses?

BAD NEWS
If you followed my recent post, you'll remember that I was ecstatic to have had a consultation with the team at Royal Marsden Cancer Clinic, where I was told that my PET scan of June, my PSA of June (4.4) and my overall good health meant that they felt I needed nothing more than
dexamethasone
and there

What comes next?
Tried switching to
dexamethasone
(from prednisone) but didn't help. I have scans & see my MO this week. I expect my PSA will be 2.0 or close to it. I'm a good candidate for Keytruda, as I have high TMB, high MSI.

Preservative free dexamethasone discountined?
The consultant has requested my gp to provide me a repeat prescription for preservative free
dexamethasone
but my gp surgery is constantly denying my repeat prescription because they say it’s no longer available. I’m running low and it’s Easter so what should I do.

Radium 223 and (AdcalD3) calcium supplements
Also are there any views on keeping on
Dexamethasone
to control inflammation? I'd be grateful for wisdom here as to what works best particularly with regard to the Adcal and Zometa timing? Thanks
