When is bradycardia afib?
I think I am confused about what is wrong with me. I thought I noticed something wrong with my heartbeat in that it didn't seem to be following the normal procedure of going faster when I exercised then slowing down when I rested. My GP checkef it with a simple EKG and immediately saw something wrong

K2 with D3
Can anyone advise me re K2 please? I take between 3000-6000 iu D3 per day and have always been under the impression that it was imperative to take K2 with it. However, I have Atrial Fibrillation (I'm not on any prescription meds, only supplements which are said to thin the blood) so I'm a little wary

Eligard Question
Hi all. I've had two injections 3 months apart, so the end of this month is the end of my 6-month ADT treatment for now. Currently experiencing moderate but uncomfortable breast swelling and wondering if this will be a reversible condition? If so, will it resolve on its own or will I need to contact

Alcohol Abstinence in Drinkers with Atrial Fibrillation
Over time, alcohol use and its effect on Afib has been a point of discussion on this forum. Below is a link to a 2020 study published in the New England Journal of Medicine which addresses this topic. The conclusions are fairly clear: CONCLUSIONS Abstinence from alcohol reduced arrhythmia recurrences

Potential ICD
Hi My husband has just had a letter following his latest echo cardiogram and apparently his ejection fraction is now 32 (it was in the 40s last year). The letter has stated that he's being considered for an ICD and he's very stressed about this. Firstly, is there anything he could be doing to improve

icd nerve pain
hey everyone I've had my ICD for 9 months now. I keep getting what can only be described as nerve pain in the left side of my neck, across my collar bone, back and left side of my chest. it's not all the time and stops me in my tracks. I've mentioned this to the heart teams but they are unsure

What rights do I have re treatment for AFib.
Not sure that rights is the word I am looking for.The phone call from the Arythmia nurse I was dreading was postponed and scheduled for next Tues.I have decided that maybe ablation might be too big a step as I do not have any crisis episodes. In persistent AF.However my quality of life in regards to fitness

Flying with afib
Has anyone in the group travelled abroad since being diagnosed with afib? I asked my EP and he said make sure you know where the hospital is (comforting)! Then I asked what to do if I had an episode on the flight, he said "Sit it out", scary as my heart rate goes stupidly fast when I take an attack.

Post Ablation Dyspnea (Shortness of Breath) and Skipping Beats
Hey All! My quick resume follows; Diagnosed in June 2020 with Afib. Had some but relatively mild symptoms. I was on metoprolol and propafenon for over a year. At one follow up visit, a doctor decided to cut the medication and I was medication free for a year. Then during another 6-month follow up

AF for 3rd time in 26 months
Had to go to A&E on Sunday, referred by 111 as I went into AF and was exhausted and breathless. After a very long wait, the doctor told me that he had spoken to the cardiologist and I have a heart defect and another cardioversion would not work. This was despite the cardiologist telling me in April that

Insurance Cautionary Tale
Before I get to the tale, I’m a very slim active 77 yr old with LBBB, severe left ventricular failure with an implanted ICD, also numerous surgical interventions throughout my life. I went on holiday with girl friends to Portugal Algarve one of which owns a villa, we’ve done this for a number of years

What's the point of taking Flecainide if it gives you flutter?
I'm wondering whether to consider packing in Flecainide as all its seems to have done is replace Afib with atrial flutter and the initial benefits appear to be waining, especially now that I'm supposed to take Bisoprolol too. Has anyone else decided to live with Afib on no drugs (other than anticoagulants

Atypical flutter ablation
My background is 3 years post stroke (probably caused by heart rhythms); 12 weeks at around 120 beats per minute and running; listed for ablation, to be undertaken at Birmingham. Letters between various consultants have now gleamed that they think its atrial flutter; that I will undergo a 'atypical flutter

Bisoprolol zombie
After initial amazing success with Flecainide controlling my Afib, which gave me my energy back for work, social and family life, I'm now in Flecainide induced flutter which is still better than Afib. However, I'm now on a very low dose of Bisoprolol (1.25mg) to prevent the risk of ventricular arrhythmia
