New pinprick blood test for Covid-19 antibodies.
Dried blood spot (
DBS
) samples have been used since the 1960s to test newborn babies for inherited disorders. The antibody test puts a single drop of blood from a skin prick onto specialized filter paper cards which can be sent for laboratory testing.

Melatonin For Parkinson's Disease (Pt. 2)
I have just gathered what I thought were relevant studies in order to show the potential that melatonin may offer PwP as a potential treatment and how it might do that, given the limited prospects currently available short of
DBS
or FUS, which are cost prohibitive for the uninsured and underinsured.

Spinal Cord Stimulation Alleviates Parkinson’s Pain in Small Study
Spinal cord stimulation can effectively decrease pain, and also may help alleviate motor symptoms, in people with Parkinson’s disease (PD), regardless of whether patients have previously undergone deep brain stimulation, a small study suggests. https://parkinsonsnewstoday.com/2020/10/02/spinal-cord-stimulation-alleviates-parkinsons-pain-small-study-suggests

Sensitivite intestine causing extreme 'off-time' esp after opening bowels
I'm on the waiting list for
DBS
but won't get the surgery until early next year. I'm surely hope this will resolve or reduce in some way. Does anyone else experience similarities?? Thx, Damo

RYTARY OR SINEMET, WHICH WORKS BEST AND CAUSES MILD OR NO DYSKINESIA OR DYSTONIA?
According to some of the posts I read here, most doctors would increase the dose, which usually result in severe and painful dyskinesia/dystonia.Some of these complications are not reversible and debilitating, warranting additional drug to alleviate the problem or

My experience with DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation) Surgery
My Neurologist mention
DBS
(Deep Brain Stimulation) Surgery as an option, so I looked into it.
DBS
seemed extreme to me and actually it seemed barbaric as well. Screwing that think into my head and drilling a hole into my skull?? No thanks! I will just shake my drinks up a while longer.

Any other PD people out there...your major PD symptom is toes curling up on both feet
I'm also considering
DBS
for the toe-curling to possibly reduce the number of Sinemet pills I take daily. If anyone has any input, would love to hear it, no matter how minute the input is.

So I finished the book...
And Steve Evans was the first marathon finisher to have had
DBS
treatment. He finished the LA Marathon in 8 hours, 40 minutes. The author had to stop during the same race to take his Sinemet, thereby missing a sub-4 hour finish time.

Feeling more positive
Hi I posted about 3 weeks ago really at the end of my tether, and wondering if I would be able to return to work again. Since then I have contacted the hospital and I have a telephone appointment with an EP at the end of Sept and then out of the blue I got a call from the cardiologist who suggested I

Sand volleyball after DBS
Does anyone play sand volleyball after having
DBS
? My programming nurse said I should be fine to play...I had
DBS
in October/November 2019. I guess I'm concerned about getting hit in the battery.

Bisoprolol Fumarate or Nebivolol to avoid ED
Nebivolol / Bisoprolol Fumarate. I’ve been on 5mg Bisoprolol Fumarate during the last 5 years or so. I started experiencing weak erections. I didn’t payed attention at the beginning as I thought it was due to daily working stress and any other regular effect from the life routine but the problem grew

Is there a limit on Dopaboost intake?
My dad is on a surgery waitlist for
DBS
here in Canada (probably next year) and we could potentially do FUS in Switzerland... But in the meantime, we have been trying to figure out the best dopamine sources to help him on the daily.

Horizant
I am a long term rls sufferer and I need help dealing with my condition. I was on gabapentin for about 9 years but the condition just steadily got worse. After a neurological consult, I was given ropinirol & clonazapan. Results were variable at best. Due to side effects, I stopped taking clonazapan.
