About to start T3 - desperate....
They arrived today, the tablets are 20mcg
Cytomel
- any suggestions for starting dosage. (Oh, no other meds as GP says I don't have a thyroid problem; according to the notes from the surgery, the TFT wasn't even requested on that occasion.) :o/

THYROXINE and CYTOMEL
Hi, I have been on Thyroxine for 24 years and someone mentioned to me that they also take
Cytomel
and since combining the two they felt better immediately. Does anyone else do this and if so can you get it on NHS prescription or do you have to order it privately from internet.

Compounded T3 vs Prescription Cytomel or Generic
My pharmacist recently compounded by T3 as it works out to be much much cheaper than
Cytomel
. Has anyone used compounded vs
cytomel
or other prescription by Paddock (generic) and found a difference?

T4 levoythyroxine and T3 Cytomel combination therapy for under active Thyroid
Getting it abroad in pills of 25mg and cut up the pill in half, as cheaper and can buy over the counter abroad, the branded
Cytomel
made under licence from the USA parent, in that country. The Americans say to take the T3 after breakfast and after supper in 2 doses. Tablet too small to cut into 4.

Base Thyroid Hormone levels - what medication best after thyroidectomy?
Does anything about these levels suggest I would do better on combined T4 and T3 (Thyroxine and
Cytomel
therapy) What about NDT's - what sort of affect on levels does that typically have? Any clarity on this matter appreciated. :) Thanks Melissa

Did anyone feel tired after starting Liothyronine, the generic for Cytomel?
I have been on levothyroxine 75mcg for about 30 years but my T3 levels are at or below the normal range. I just began to take Liothyronine 5mcg three days ago and about 1/2 hour after I take it I feel really sleepy. Is my body just getting adjusted to this new medication? Is this normal? The pharmacist

New blood results..after a reduction in 12.5mcg ...ft3 now BELOW range :-/ Any thoughts on them please?
I saw Dr P last september and the result of the consultation was despite my ft3 being ABOVE range (7.3 range 4-6.8) on 62.5mcg
cytomel
and remaining symptomatic though greatly improved, to first try and raise t3 again before trying Armour.

Is anyone on a combination of t4 and t3 treatments? Blue Horizon test shows my T3 is at the bottom of the range.
My thyroid function is now normal but I'm wondering if I might benefit from T3 as well -
Cytomel
? and wondered about others' experiences. Grateful for any help.

How long to stop T3 before blood test, so GP won't freak?
And if I have to go it totally alone (currently get my own NDT, but may have to obtain
Cytomel
), then same question. How long before the bloods are taken should I hold off the T3? Or all the meds? Advice gratefully received.

Liothyronine Costs 2012
If I have read it right, each 5 microgram
Cytomel
tablet costs £3.79. And the average prescription is for about 104 tablets - which suggests that for each doctor insisting they be prescribed in 112 tablet quantities, two prescribe in the 100 tablet quantities they come in.
