Newbie here
He recommend changing blood thinner to
Coumadin
. So we are in the process of changing that now . Two days before Treatment #4. Liver counts still high. They recommend an ultrasound. So today when I went to Treatment #4, they decided to not give me Taxotere (Docetaxel) but just Carbo.

Wonder and worry
I was put on lovenox then on
Coumadin
. The swelling never went away on the
Coumadin
however it did on Lovenox. I was taken off
Coumadin
in 2014. Recently without injury I have developed another DVT in the same leg. I was once again put on Lovenox and swelling went away.

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Nattokinase
Having experience a double DVT in one leg six years ago, 3 months of Warfarin (&
Coumadin
Clinic hell), together with a met at L5, I wish I had known about Nattokinase 12 years ago. My urologist once said that if there is a met on a scan, there are mets all over - you just can't see them.

Question about Nausea, and non-wafarin treatment options for APS
My hemotologist is unwilling to do this in conjunction with
Coumadin
, outside the hospital. Boosting
Coumadin
with heparin doesn't seem to be a standard therapy in the US. PS. Yesterday I had a thyroid panel and vitamin b-12 screen done. (thank you ladies!

Pseudogout with PMR?
I was going to get a cortisone injection in that knee yesterday but it was delayed due to my being on
Coumadin
. From what I gather, acute pseudogout, being an inflammatory arthritis, is treated much the same way as PMR but with short term steroids rather than long term.

Interesting read - what are the thoughts?
Nontoxic and Effective Treatment So if you suffer from atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, or any other cardiac arrhythmia, you will probably be prescribed the toxic drug Amiodarone along with the rat poison warfarin (
Coumadin
).

Misled and Upset
There have been people on this forum who claim they have been treated with heparin/
Coumadin
/plaquenil DESPITE never having a clot, and that Dr Hughes even treated patients with no thrombolic events AND were sero negative for APS or cardiolipin.

Warfarin use
Before the surgery I was told by my surgeon I would be taking
Coumadin
for three months, because the new valve is made of bovine tissue. If my valve had been replaced with a mechanical valve, I would have been on
Coumadin
for the rest of my life.

New Oral Anticoagulants Can Require Careful Dosing Too
"While these new drugs are relatively easier to manage than warfarin (
coumadin
), there are still dose adjustments that need to be made for certain patients," co-author Dr. Benjamin A. Steinberg of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City told Reuters Health in an email.

colonoscopy and A fib
I am still on
coumadin
and probably always will be as the cardiologist and EP feel that A fib may recur. I am also concerned about stopping the
coumadin
four days before the colonoscopy. I would appreciate hearing about any experience others have had with a similar situation.

Blood Thinners
Ive seen a lot of people on
Coumadin
, and am wondering if this is the drug of choice even though I believe it works on clotting factors other than fibrin? I'm not sure where in the clotting cascade the meds are meant to target. I have a medical background which is why I'm curious. Thanks! Elke
