How did you measure efficacy (can you still use protime/INR) and were there any interactions or conflicts that most long time users of warfarin/
coumadin
are familiar.

Is it common to need an increase in Coumadin ( Warfarin) during an APS " Flare?"
So, to recap question, do you guys find that if you are in a " flare" you need to increase your
Coumadin
? How do I know if I'm in a flare? My doctor has never explained a flare.

Did you know there is a multi vitamin on the market that is K free?
I'm going to run it be a friend first who's a registered dietitian who works in hospitals with
Coumadin
patients. (Her husband is our family veterinarian for our kitty cat and lab!) I'll let you know... but it is interesting...

warfarin blood tests at the beginning -- how frequent?
Those of you who are knowledgeable about warfarin/
coumadin
: when people first start taking this, how frequently does your health care system require blood tests? i'm starting
coumadin
literally today after doing a lot of research and consults.

Since we are on the subject of Livido : This is while at 3.5 INR
The doctor was shocked...he couldn't believe it took 17 mg of
Coumadin
daily to get my INR to 3.5. On top of that he couldn't believe i was in livido at 3.5...he thought I would be hemorrhaging out...

Stroke and APS
Recently (2012) I had some dental surgery and the surgeon wanted me off
coumadin
. I consulted my family doctor, and actually requested a heparin bridge, however my doctor said no and the risk is minimal.

Cranial nerve blocks ( steroids injections) causing an elevated INR?
I plan to have a few more greens - and either cut my
Coumadin
dose by 1/2 , or not take it at all tonight, and resume it tomorrow night at one mg reduced from normal regiment? This is what my hematologist has told me to do should this ever happen.

High inr, headache and funny vision
I was put on
Coumadin
until I got pregnant and have now been back on it for two months since the birth of my healthy son. I've never been able to level out my inr and after going threw weeks without testing because of a fairly good stretch in range my inr came back 5.6.

So Confused
However now I am considering coming off of the
Coumadin
because of the studies that I'm seeing for the long-term effects of
Coumadin
therapy. I am not getting the warm and fuzzy from my doctor for me to come off of
Coumadin
.

INR and Coumadin dosage
You all with INR Meters: when you get results from your INR Meter, who adjusts your dosage of
Coumadin
based on meter results? Do you call your doctor's office with INR results and they tell you how to adjust your
Coumadin
? Or, do you adjust your dosage of
Coumadin
yourself? Thank you all so much.

Feeling startled?
She is currently on
Coumadin
, Diltiazem, and Amiodarone. She was diagnosed with Afib when she got the pacemaker implanted. This past week she went to the hospital due to her afib and in the end the doctor performed a cardioversion which got things back to normal.
