PMR since Sept 2017
After my original post, I think it was PMRpro that asked for a more indepth description of my journey. I have an appointment in December 2017 with my Rheumy and am wondering what questions I should ask. So here is my journey: February 22, 2017 – Saw Dr Gio for pain behind my clavicle bone he ordered

Undiagnosed Hand/Wrist/Arm Pain
Hi, I am in need of everyone’s suggestions. Almost five years ago I began feeling sharp pain in my left hand fingers while typing on the computer. Three days later I began feeling the pain in my right hand fingers. The pain eventually spread to my wrists and lower forearms to the point I had to begin

Mostly dizzy, waiting for a diagnosis, and looking for answers
I don’t know where or how to begin to describe my journey, because after reading the many posts here, seems I may have been battling more than I realized. Over three years ago I started having benign positional vertigo; however, I started to feel dizzy throughout the day. Then, I started experiencing

PMR - new symptoms
Had a wonderful evening with the family for my granddaughters 7th birthday. Came home went to sleep, I feel I slept well. Well surprise surprise PMR threw me a curve ball. Woke up the next morning and couldn't move my right arm above my waist or push my arm out from a 90 degree angle. Talk about frustrated

Tapering at a snails pace but still having withdrawal issues
Hello Everyone I haven't posted for a long time butI keep in touch daily. Thought my story might be helpful as even though on a very gradual taper I am encountering side effects. I was diagnosed with PMR January 2015. I have been very lucky as never had pain. Stiffness was dehabilitating enough. I resisted

CORTISONE SHOT/THYROID
Hi I'm new. I had a cortisone shot in my foot 6 days ago. The skin on my face became so rough and dry, just like sand-paper. Could the cortisone injection have affected my thyroid to cause this condition? and will it go away in a period of time?

How do you make people understand?
Hello, I have been struggling with hip/knee pain for almost 10 days by now, cortisone is not being that helpful and I think I am only alive because of Aspirin. Anyways, I feel like it's extremely difficult to make people understand that despite the fact I am walking around, going to school etc. I am

Mirena coil and ra
Hi there Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this? I am nearly 47 and booked to have a mirena put in next week as everyone I know really recommends it. It just occurred though that maybe with ra there is a reason not to. There seems to be some evidence -not sure if true or not-of it bringing it

Is there a member in Sussex who would be able to discuss the options for easing severe joint and muscle pain. From my shoulders, arms, fingers, spine,, hips and I am really struggling to walk and get any sleep. Two shoulder cortisone shorts haven't helped. Any thoughts much appreciated

PMR or Ra
I need opinion again. Diagnosed in March With PMR. 20mg of Prednisone. Down to 9mg a month ago pain was severe in right shoulder. Doctor sent me for MRI. MRI showed Synivitis and Effusion. Now doctor thinks possibly RA. She did 1 cortisone shot in my shoulder. And brought up the dreaded medicine

Slightly desperate...
Hello people, It's me again. Laying in bed like a dying walrus right now...my hips and knees are incredibly painful right now, and this wasn't supposed to happen as I was on 5mg Prednisolone per day. That worked fine for about 3 weeks, until Tuesday night. I went to the doctor today, and he drew some

Sticks and stones
Well sticks and stones may break my bones but arthritis will cause way more painful issues! So had my MRI on lower back and neck and now I have been booked in for cortisone injections in my neck. Apparently there are two different areas and they won't do both injections on the one day so I have to go

PMR Flare-up w/ Normal Bloodwork
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had the experience of feeling a major PMR flare up with bloodwork coming back within normal range for inflammation markers? I have been feeling as bad as I did at the beginning of my diagnosis 3 yrs ago. Have gotten down to 2 mg Pred for a while now, but had a bad fall

Gluteal Tendinopathy
I have been diagnosed with Gluteal Tendinopathy with hip bursitis and have been in pain for over 18 months when climbing stairs walking and sleeping on either side. MRI shows my tendons are worn out. I have just had a cortisone injection near hip but it's not very effective. I need to do an exercise
