Suspected gluten sensitivity and IBS - How long for symptoms to appear and how long to recover?
Hi all. I have been having gut issues the last 6 months, and after a clear endoscopy and CT scan it leaves IBS as the main suspect. My next gastro consultation is still 2 months away where I suspect a colonoscopy will be advised. For the last few months I have been following the low FODMAP diet which

What tests do they do?
I’ve been referred to oncology by my go but no idea what tests they will do as I haven’t been asked to do an enema or special diet - I was expecting a colonoscopy

My experience with Prostate Cancer and RP.
Hi. Thought i would share my Prostate Cancer story. 59 Yrs old at the time I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer back in Nov 2017, after the biopsy came back Gleason 6 in 4/12 biopsies. PSA at the time was 10. We decided on a wait and see approach as I was due to depart on a 5 week trip to Africa.

Colonoscopy question
Hi, I'm on the waiting list for this and I've never had one, I'm just wondering how you get sedated as I'm absolutely terrified of needles and having a cannula during surgery last year was a really horrible experience so would rather avoid that if possible, but at the same time if they do that I would

Can’t get off the roundabout.
Hi, everyone, I spend half my life going for hospital appointments, thank goodness for our NHS. Been going to Rheumy doc for about 5 years now, I complain about the usual stuff, fatique, sore joints, rashes that come and go etc, etc. After telling her yet again my eyes are so dry and get red eye every

Still a problem.
Hi everyone, been to Doctors today as I still have the squitters, two weeks now, GP was a locum as mine on holiday, but she listened to me and examined me too. She was concerned at how pale I was, is it any wonder! Sample sent to lab but if it's clear I have got to have a colonoscopy because it might

Colonoscopy Whilst on Steroids
Hello Again! I am wondering if you could let me have your opinions before I speak to the endoscopy unit. I am having a colonoscopy later this month. I know how to live! 😊 My question is, on the day prior to the procedure, I am allowed a light breakfast - which is when I would normally take my 3mg

So if you've been following posts then this is an update🙈 I went and spoke to a different doctor on Friday and he actually listened and said how bad it was and that going to the toilet 14 times a day and sometimes until its running clear isn't normal, so been put on the urgent list for colonoscopy,

So fed up
I used to have IBS C with pain and managed the condition with no problem at all. I had food poisoning back in November and since then I've had IBS D and nausea as well as indigestion at times. After clear tests results from Colonoscopy, Ultrasound and Endoscopy plus bloods I was no better. I saw a Nutritionist

Horrible acid reflux IBS-related or rebound effect from short term PPI-use?
I wrote a post here earlier about possible IBS-related stomach problems. I didn't mention it in the original post, but these problems started about a month before a trip abroad that I had planned for very long. Just a few days before the departure I was considering cancelling, but my house doctor told

Elevated B12 but no evident reason
Hi. I am 27, male. In January this year I visited the neurologist for headaches (eventually turned out it was neck muscle tension and they disappeared) and I was requested to do (among others) a B12 blood test, which read 1040. The doctor wasn't concerned so I forgot about it. In June I repeated it and

Stomach problems, possibly slow transit?
I have recently been diagnosed by my rheumatologist with HEDS . I have quite a few things going on , one is stomach problems. I know EDS can affect the stomach. For at least 2 years I've been having problems with going to the toilet, I put it down to pain medication and the huge amount of antibiotics

Problems after CT colongraphy
First time on here and asking if anyone has had a CT colonography and has suffered with diarrhoea a couple of days later - just wondering if all the investigations have upset my bowel? Had a colonoscopy last week too.
