I'm on salbutamol, fostair and
ciclesonide
inhalers and was on pred for 5 months (stopped the beginning of January because I can't handle the side effects anymore) and nothing is helping.

Wondering about inhalers and asthma exacerbation.
Hello all, Thankfully, have not had an asthma exacerbation whilst on the new inhalers -
ciclesonide
and seretide. Had a sinus problem and used my ventolin then and all was well. Was wondering if like with my old inhalers I could up the dose of these if I did have a bad asthma exacerbation.

Got my diagnosis letter yesterday.
Consultant has also asked that the Doc changes my corticosteroid inhaler to
ciclesonide
as it has less interaction with Itraconazole. Anyone else on this. Is the dose just once a day? If your asthma gets worse can you double the dose of this?

Ulcers
Im also on
ciclesonide
160 2 puffs twice a day and seretide 250 2 puffs twice a day and have been at that dose since December. Just lately I have noticed i've been getting real trouble with mouth ulcers. Not sure whether it is meds related or not but it is bothering me.

Chronic Asthma but Lung Function Normal
Recently its been completely out of control and i'm now on: Seretide 250 /

Hello :)
I take fostair,
ciclesonide
, salbutamol (inhaler and nebs), tiotropium respimat, singulair, carbocysteine, azithromycin, amoxycilin, omeprazole and domperidone (aspiration pneumonia), and the higher dose fexofenadine. Plus oral steroids, and the gubbins to try and reduce osteoporosis.

Ciclesonide
told me to increase my
ciclesonide
to 2 puffs twice a day if I feel my asthma getting worse. I'm slightly concerned about this though: the BNF states that
ciclesonide
160mcg be given one puff once a day. I've always been on 1 puff twice a day, which is already a high and unlicensed dose.

How well do you know your meds?
Well I was stumped a this point - some I know, like my
Ciclesonide
because it's always queried, but I don't know how many micrograms make up one Montelukast tablet or how many micrograms in a spray of Salmeterol etc. I could look them up and know where to get the info.

Ciclesonide
Hi there I have been referred to a new specialist, and although I have not seen him yet, an asthma nurse at my local hospital said this specialist was quite fond of trying
ciclesonide
for difficult/brittle asthma. Can anyone tell me what this is?

What next? Feeling a bit down with it all
I am on what most doctors consider ""max meds"" - salbutamol, symbicort, spiriva, oxis,
ciclesonide
, home nebs and now pred for a little while. There is no point in making an appointment with my GP - although she is absolutely fantastic, there is nothing more she can do to help.

Alvesco - Ciclesonide
Ok - I'll keep this brief. Recently prescribed Alvesco 160 mcg - 2 puffs twice a day. Have had terrible croaky throat - asthma nurse at clinic said should take through volumatic / spacer type thing! Makes my asthma worse when I do this...... after a cpl of days breathing had plummetted. Reversed to taking
