Hi I posted this in a different forum as unsure which one to use? Anyhow, for the past 6 months I have had very bad back pain which is impacting daily life. I have no idea what triggered it but my physio says she sees it all the time and it is degenerative disc disease. I have paid for a dozen physio

Back Pain Medication/Advice
For the past 6 months I have had very bad back pain which is impacting daily life. I have no idea what triggered it but my physio says she sees it all the time and it is degenerative disc disease. I have paid for a dozen physio sessions and several osteopath sessions which have not been helpful unfortunately

Petechia
I have been treated with Ibrutinib for 16 months and have responded to treatment really well. My white blood count was 148.7 when I started treatment now I am 14.7. I have Petechia on arms and legs. My platelets are 278. Just wondering what could be causing this. This is my first time to post and

Painkillers stopped working
Hello everyone, I've had fibromyalgia since 2021 and it's full body. About a month ago I stopped taking Amytriptaline and Gabpacentin as they were acting more like depressants and did make me feel like taking my own life to escape my profound pain. A week after I stopped the prescribed medication.

Can you tell NICE what you think of a draft decision aid for chronic primary pain?
The NICE guideline on
chronic
pain
describes
chronic
primary
pain
as pain where no underlying condition causes the pain, or the pain (or its impact) appears to be out of proportion to any observable injury or disease.

Just confused
I have spent 8 months or so trying to figure out what on Earth is going on with my periods. I’ve had three scans and a couple of consultations. Friends of mine tell me they just take two paracetamol and sometimes use a hot water bottle and they’re ok. Where I generally can’t walk, take extremely hot

CLL/SLL and ischemic bowel death
My brother had untreated SLL. He died March 2022, after a week of omicron Covid infection that seemed to pass mid January of that year. We have heard rumors that many with CLL/SLL die of blood clot/ischemia, but I have been unable to confirm. Are there data to confirm this? I myself have CLL, which

I have just received an email from my GP who has arranged for a F2F appointment to see me beginning January to discuss me starting to take Prolia. My last Dexascan in 2021 did show that I have osteoporosis, and I did take Alendronic Acid for the first two years of having Polymyalgia. Since then I have

Interesting info
My husband had a dvt event a few weeks ago and had the usual response of heparin injections for 4 days, and put on apixaban. I commented to him that Apixaban will sort out the clot in his femoral vein .The AC nurse stopped me and said,no, Apixaban does not work on actual clots it prevents further ones

Total knee replacement - 6 weeks on
Hi Today is my 6 week anniversary of having my TKR on my right knee. I'm keen to start driving again and wondered if I need to get the go ahead from the physio first or what is the protocol? My understanding was that if you can do an emergency stop you can drive. I have an automatic car so I'll be

Laparoscopy - when do you know if it's worked? Will I have pain free days in my recovery? I'm 6 weeks after Op.
My story is quite long, so I will try to keep it brief. For 2 years I have had
chronic
pelvic
pain
after doing various tests that all came back clear I was offered a diagnostic laparoscopy. After 19 months of waiting I had the surgery 6 weeks ago.

Dealing with feelings of a kind of "imposter syndrome."
Between the intense
pain
of standing over the sink (my
chronic
pain
is in my back), and the incredible resistance I feel trying to choose to do this fundamental task, I feel so boxed in. And my teeth are in very bad shape because of it.
