new to forum. Looking for ideas, tricks, support, "friends"
I thought that I would just drop a quick line or two to say Hi and that I live in North Carolina, USA. I have been "quitting" for the last 4 years. I have had much success on Chantix, but as soon as I am done with it a couple of months later I am back to smoking. My husband has LOTS to say when I

Hi, I started taking Champix 4 weeks ago and had my last ciggy 2 and a half weeks ago. I have had to stop taking the Champix though.
I stopped the
Champix
5 days ago but I still have dizziness although not as bad. Is this normal?

Allen Carr, Champix and E-cigs!
I read Allen Carr's book yesterday (after taking my first 0.25
champix
) and was so impressed, I threw my cigs away and felt very positive. So far i've made it 25 hours but my resolve is really weakening..

Yes there are things to help you along the way like NRT and
Champix
but even with those products we have to have the will , desire and motivation to make the behavioural changes that make all the difference to staying quit.

It has all come at once!
Well 8 months ago I didn't even take a paracetamol unless I was in absolute agony, now I am on seretide, spiriva, ventolin, low dose aspirin, cholesterol tablets and
champix
! What a difference in such a short space of time.

TIPS TO STOP SMOKING
Also, medicines called bupropion (trade name 'Zyban®') and varenicline (trade name '
Champix
®') can help. These are available on prescription.

And the beat goes on.........
Apart from the blip in April when I smoked 18 cigs over a few days, then picked myself up, ditched the junk
Champix
and carried on. 19 weeks of stress, misery, tears, and hair pulling later how do I feel. Umm, exactly the same. Could still quite happily smoke.

A long road to recovery...
Also palnning to go to quit smoking this weekend hoping I get prescribed
champix
as smoking brings me no pleasure anymore. One thing I find myself yearning for is a friend, I can't remember the last time I had the comfort of a true friend.
