Not sure what to do about possible lupus
Hi all, Firstly sorry for this life storey but this may take a while to explain. I was told last year after an operation to remove a skin leision (looked like a cluster of very small warts) that they think I may have lupus. This op has left me with a rarther large scar on my arm for my upcomming

Cervical screening
Hello everyone, I recently had
cervical
screening
done and got my results back yesterday saying there were some abnormal changes to the cells. They did a test for HPV infection which came out negative. So the risk of cancer at this stage is very small.

Patient Advocate Launches Scotland's Detect Cancer Early Plan
Screening
for breast, bowel and

cancers have been introduced, and cancer is being diagnosed and treated earlier thanks to advances in technology and investment in staff and equipment. However, Scotland continues to lag behind other parts of Europe for cancer survival rates.

Study and report says 'Many women underestimate fertility clock's clang' - what I thought when I read it
‘Many women underestimate fertility clock’s clang’ – a recent USA National Public Radio story reports. http://www.npr.org/2011/12/01/142725547/many-women-underestimate-fertility-clocks-clang Increasingly, every year there seems to be a study or story along these lines - one which reports

It’s Saturday night, I should be out having fun, but I’m not, far from it. With regards to my mental health I always seem to struggle with the weekends, I’m not sure why this is, it’s probably the onslaught of really awful so called entertainment programmes on TV so therefore I’m left with my own thoughts

I never learn
What a week. Overdid it the other day cleaning the hob and oven and also polishing the copper kettle which sits on the hob cover as it was filthy,. My cleaner only wipes over the top of the hob cover. What with all the scrubbing (cleaning an oven is not my idea of fun!), - I also did the kitchen floor

Ovarian Cyst, Pain, and bleeding. Updated!
I decided to write this down for two reasons. Firstly to "vent" and secondly for any lurkers out there who are in the same position as me; no diagnosis, but a nagging doubt in the back of my mind that things won't be so good. I started out last year with horrific pain (pulling in my stomach and radiating

What has happened so far
when I was pregnant back in 2007 at the second scan it was discovered I had a dermoid cyst around 4mm in size, the sonographer said nothing to worry about just leave it until after you have had the baby. At my six week check up I mentioned it to the doctor who sent me for a scan where it was confirmed

Did the nurse break patient confidentiality?
Hi all, need to have a moan about this. My two teenage (14 & 15 yrs) daughters & I went for our flu jabs on Fri. We all went in together as my 15 year old has ASD & is selective mute & wont speak to the nurse & I have to explain this every time. There was also a male student nurse there who asked if

Reaching out to those with OVCA
Women who attend for
cervical
screening
often believe that this identifies any gynaecological cancer. Should these visits be the opportunity for health professionals to initiate advice about the signs and symptoms of OVCA?
