Follow up to my first post - progress!
First of all I want to say thank you to all the advice people have given me. I almost cried when I read peoples posts because it felt like I was being listened to. I feel like I've gained alot more insight and the book that was recommended to me really helped! I had my smear examination yesterday and

New and not getting anywhere
I grew up with a Mum suffering from endometriosis. I watched first hand what it did to her. I was told my grandma and great grandma had it. And then as I grew older both my mums sisters got diagnosed with it. I went to my doctor to ask if I could be at risk and he said no as its 'not hereditary'. I've

Endo symptoms or more serious?
Endo Symptoms or more serious? I have some mid cycle bleeding and pelvic pain. I was diagnosed in May 2015 but have never really had any symptoms. I’m so scared that the bleeding is something more serious. I’ve got a smear, scan and bloods booked but it’s going to be a few weeks until everything is

Ivf & smear test at the same time.
Hi all! I was wondering if anyone could help me. When we decided to go ahead with ivf, I asked the doctor whether I’d need a more update smear result...as it was July and my smear was due November. He said because we were starting ivf end of September we would be fine. Last Wednesday when I was due to

Hello I am 56 years old and had a health scare last year following my first ever abnormal
cervical
screening
. There was a discrepancy in my results so I was closely monitored by the hospital but then discharged in June.

I think I’m a hypochondriac, I suspect they do too!
Since I was 19 I’ve been aware of ‘extra beats’, repeated daily palpitations, arrhythmia, tachycardia and quite a few episodes of SVT that happen to me. 25 years ago, I had my first long-winded & scary episode of SVT where we lost sight of how many beats after exceeding 254 bpm. I fainted and as I was

How would you go about addressing this ERP?
Everytime I walk past the kitchen or bathroom, I get intrusive thoughts that I'm going to run over and smear a significant amount of soap on myself. I also get these thoughts before bed. Is it best to leave them alone or actually smear a lot of soap on myself all the time for ERP?

Cervical screening
Hello, I'm new here. Aged 55 I had my first ever abnormal screening result followed by lletz. There was a discrepancy between screening & lletz result & so I had 3 month follow ups & started HRT as menopause may have caused discrepancy. Have now been given the all clear & discharged to next screening

Treatment delayed because of smear test result?
Morning all, I'm patiently waiting on a call back from the nurses at my fertility clinic to let me know whether our treatment will be delayed further because of my smear test result. My result has shown minor changes in the cells in my cervix, and I have to have a other test in 6 months time. Being already

No periods after stopping the pill
This is my last resort really. I'm 29 years old and I stopped the pill last year after taking it for 10 years. I haven't had a real period since. I've had all the tests done, hormones checks, ultrasound, smear test etc. Everything is normal and healthy. The doctor put me on Norestherirone with little

Petrified of having a smear
To start with I suffer from extreme health anxiety and bouts of depression. I don't seem to be able to think logically or realistically everything is always bad in my head. Apologises for all the tmi included. So I'm 33 with 3kids last smear was fine nothing abnormal all good. About a year ago I noticed

Fed up of my lungs... anyone wanna swap? 😉😂 (an ode to the last 6 months 😉)
Hey everyone - this is more a rant/decompression cause I’m fed up than anything else so feel free to ignore! And I know there are others out there a lot worse off than me 😅 (I’ve been there myself) I think it hit me harder mentally and I’m more fed up cause the issues have come after a period of good

Today we’ll provide a general introduction into some of the issues around screening and in our later posts we’ll look at research into ovarian cancer screening, some of the approaches to

and earlier diagnosis and the existing

Just had a smear test done which was painful compared to the previous years to check if I'm still hpv + #compleletedmymissionforthisweekend And before I left I tended to my grape and blueberry bush as therapic time to calm me down before hand

Cervix pain
Hi, I have a burning pain in my cervix area which sometimes radiates to my right leg. There is no unusual bleeding or discharge, and I'm not pregnant. I have an examination booked for next week and a smear test booked as well. I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced similar symptoms persistently

You've seen the platelets now here is the big mama clump
Usually you would not see a clump of this size on a blood smear. This happened because the smear was made via finger prick. But it gives you an idea of what it looks like when clots form.
