I have posted re my paroxysmal AF with episodes very fast heart rate requiring treatment in hospital, but am now concerned about ever getting the Ablation I am waiting for. Have just found a letter August, which says “we’ll consider ablation if another very fast heart rate episode occurs”. Well so

Amiodarone and AF
I had cardioversion in August at Bart’s to restore sinus rhythm after being in persistent AF for 6 months. Been on amiodarone and pleased to report not a single flutter since. Had transformed my life. Cardiologist wants to reduce my dose and later change me to another drug. Does anyone have experience

Supraventricular Ectopies
I’m looking for reassurance, my friends. I am plagued by many palpitations these days, which my Kardia says are mostly SVEs, with a bit of Afib thrown in - unless of course Kardia is incorrect and they are all Afib ! I see a cardiologist annually and actually, because I complained of these palpitations

Verapamil and effects on thyroid
I have been wondering if my long term use of heart drug Verapamil has had any affect on my thyroid. I have been on Thyroxine for 22 years and Verapamil for about 18 years. I stumble across the following article and wondered if anyone can make head or tail of it. It says at the end it was safe for the

Hi all. Some of my AF friends on here may recall I had an echocardiogram way back on 14th August, as i was getting a bit SOB on stairs and slopes. I finally got the report on this Friday, 24th NOVEMBER....I almost can't believe I have had to wait THAT long. Anyway there has indeed been a change

Looking for my Miracle
I've had persistent AFib for decades. Cardiologist and EP suggested ablation, watchman, every pill and treatment out there but I never felt they were the right thing to do, other than taking many meds, Altace, Toprol XL, Amiodarone, etc. Most recently I had to go onto Xarelto, 'tho I resisted it for

Coming home
So after 4.5 years in Nigeria and an APS diagnosis in summer 2020 I’m coming back to the U.K. In many ways I’m looking forward to it and I know my consultants - all 3 of them - will be much more comfortable with me being near better medical care (APS, warfarin and epilepsy are not a good combination

Biotin
Hi please can you tell me how much biotin would affect blood test results. I am waiting for a doctors appointment , they have told me it will be between 2 and 4 weeks, but could be sooner. I am currently taking B complex supplement which contains biotin. I know the guideline is don't take for 7 days.

I have an amazing ability to pick relevant podcasts while driving. Just had my blood work done in preparation of starting Pluvicto and not being able to choose wisely while driving I picked this podcast which i have heard before and have even advocated on this forum before. Dr Chetty is so brilliant

flecainide question
Thank you everyone for the goodwill and empathy of this community. I’ve had two ablations (cryoablation, and RF). After a year living symptom free, AF episodes have recurred. However, following , two reversions to NSR via Flecainide and Bisoprolol as a ‘pill in the pocket’ intervention, it’s not

Advice please on paroxysmal afib
Hi all, I was diagnosed with lone AF in 2020. I think most of you are familiar with my story. My episodes (very symptomatic) were about every 4 months lasting up to 36 hours before reverting back to NSR. I have started to have them more frequently so went for an ablation which was scheduled for this week

Palpitations worse after ablation
Good evening everyone, I’m really struggling after my catheter ablation 10 days ago. The palpitations and ectopics I’m experiencing are awful. So different to the palpitations I was having before my ablation. They are very erratic. I have Dilated Cardiomyopathy and AVNRT. I know it’s early days

Elevated Cholesterol
Hello, Just had my cholesterol results back and they are quite elevated. Just wondering whether anyone else has elevated Cholesterol and just taking Aspirin watch and wait? Fortunately my Triglycerides are good. I tried Atorvastatin in 2018 but had to stop after 6m due to severe muscle aches. No

Palpitations
Hi all. Just had a horrible weekend , fast irregular heart rate, lasted over 1 hour . Of course it had stopped by the time I was monitored, so they didn't really have any record . Spent 2 nights in EAU wired up , lots of ecgs bloods etc. They reassured me it wasn't a heart attack . The flutters continued

sorry, me again with another question
After a cardio version does anyone still stay on bisoprolol . Paul is on 2.5 mg now but his heart rate is averaging mid to late fifties . I’m just wondering if he needs to be on a lower dose or it’s ok as his heart is resting . His walking average on his watch is 75 which is great compared to mid 100s
