There is hope
Hi all - I wanted to update everyone on a positive experience and to hopefully debunk some of the myths. For context I live in the Republic of Ireland and also have private medical insurance (this is very common in Ireland). 55, male and generally fit. I was having episodes of waking up, bolt upright

Cost of Eliquis (Apixaban) in the U.S.
I live in the U.S. and I have decided -- the decision can be debated elsewhere -- to take Eliquis, which is available outside the U.S. as a generic called apixaban. My Eliquis costs $314 for 30 pills. I could do a bit better pricewise at another pharmacy 50 miles away, with long, long lines. I pay

Cod liver oil tablets
Hi everyone, I’m just curious to know if any of you take cod liver oil and if so has it affected your gut/ibs in any way. I have just decided to try them because of my age (the menopause is causing me joint pain) but I’m always cautious with everything I take incase of a stomach upset.Thank you 😊

High Blood Pressure meds with ET+Jak2
I’ve had ET+Jak2 for 9 years and have tolerated Hydroxy plus asprin quite well. I’ve always had low blood pressure but was diagnosed with high blood pressure a month ago and put on meds which have worked in bringing it down. The problem is I feel really tired on them and my ankles have swollen, a common

Ramipril
I'm on 10mg Ramipril and have been so for at least 15 years, maybe a bit longer. My GP has now asked me to cease taking it for 8 weeks. It was originally prescribed as a blood pressure control drug. It has done its job, up to a point ! In more recent years I have had added to the blood pressure mix Felodopine

Hi just got a letter from cardiology.Anyone know what a QRS of 176 milisecond relates too? In permanent AFib so guessing it's something to do with the heart rate? Thanks

Atrial Fibrillation (AF) Drug information
Upon diagnosis of atrial fibrillation (AF) many individuals are prescribed medications that include antiarrhythmic medication(s). These help to restore the normal (sinus) heart rhythm. They work by blocking specific electrical conduction channels in the heart. Many can slow the activation of the heart

Heart Supplements
Hello, I'm currently on warfarin, omeprazole, amlodipine and valsartan. Besides trying to exercise and watch my diet, I'm thinking of consuming some heart supplements to strengthen my heart. Has anyone try anything good and can share? How about products from NatureFarm? Or any other supplements?

Effects of azithromycin on blood pressure
I have recently been prescribed azithromycin long term three times a week. Has anyone had their blood pressure go up as a result of taking this whilst also being treated for high blood pressure and AF with Digoxin cadesartan and bisoprolol. I have been told by the consultant that the digoxin is a low

KardiaMobile ECG interpretation
I have had a KardiaMobile 2 lead device for about 4 years. In that time I have relied on the determination of Normal, Afib, Bradycardia, inconclusive and very occasionally PVCs along with my 30 second heartrate. However, I have not really paid much attention to the trace pattern. I have seen some somewhat

AFib getting better but not the symptoms?
About 9 weeks ago I went into AFib for the 4th time. I await a telephone consultation with Barts. The strange thing is my iWatch now says I’m mainly in Sinus rhythm. This has never happened before as each time I’ve needed an ablation. Seems like good news, however I still have the same old symptoms.

when 2 cardiologist tells you one thing and another tells you a it completely different issue or is it??
im very disappointed It seems out of the 3 cardiologists I have seen 2 had told me I had enlarged left ventricle and one even drawed me a diagram to show me where about the heart this was lower left side. I had a blood test done by Gp and BNP levels was raised she seemed alarmed and said there

COGANS SYNDROME
There are around 500 cases of this in the world, so is extremely rare, which means diagnosis becomes even more difficult. CG as its referred to is a form of multi vessel vasculitis so symptons end up pretty broad. Why so few cases is a lot of researchers believe there a lot of undiagnosed cases out
