10 weeks (tomorrow) post RF ablation.
Hi all, thought I'd drop a note giving my feedback and conclusions. Hope it helps anyone making the decision. After 4 years of persistent AF and 4 cardioversions - I hated the idea of an ablation and refused to have one, believing that the cardioversions were good enough - the NSR after the 4th one

Question for Cardioversion Patients
Purpose in asking is though
cardioversion
often returns, does it improve symptoms (lower heart rate, feeling tired, etc) I realize this may depend on individual circumstances and medication given after
cardioversion
. Thanks !

Only one Afib episode???
However in January 2020 I suddenly went into Afib out of nowhere, it was the most terrifying experience of my life and it ended with an electrical
cardioversion
in A&E after about 6 hours of afib.

Afib and aflutter
I’m new here and looking for similar conditions and ideas to cope. I had Afib for 20 straight months. After 5 cardio and 1 ablation I finally was out of Afib which lasted about a year. Then into aflutter which has turned out to be more debilitating than Afib. Ive had cardioversions and ablation that

Post Cardioversion
Hi everyone Had successful
Cardioversion
yesterday, feeling tired and achy today. Medication changed previously on Bisoprolol 10mg now 5mg. Digoxin stopped. Continue with Apixaban. Would just like to know how people felt after having

Flecainide x 2wks now put me in flutter. EP says means better chance of next cardioversion sticking this time. Anyone else similar
Last

Ectopics and exercise
However in January 2020 (age 28) I had afib episode (following an extended period of drinking alcohol over christmas and new year) that needed electrical
cardioversion
. No episodes since, but periods of worse ectopics which sometimes correlate with being ill (cold/flu).

Awaiting Cardioversion for Afib and views sought on best treatment thereafter.
I’m assuming that’s to aid the success of the
cardioversion
which I’ll be having a couple of weeks later. My concerns are (1) that being in Afib for a number of weeks might mean I’m less likely to recover NSR after
cardioversion
? (2) what side effects the flecainade will have on me?

What is the success rate of an Ablation?
I have had a
cardioversion
, lasted a week. Now on a chemical
cardioversion
that does not seem to be working either. Life is not bad so far as long as I take it easier than I am used to! Light headed and feel awful when I push the boundaries.

Cardioversion - shock setting
Is there any evidence that the harder it is for a
cardioversion
to shock the heart back into normal rhythm ( requiring a higher shock setting) then the more likely it is to stay in that normal rhythm?

Pacemaker and Flecainide
Started having afib about 14 years ago. After a couple of cardioversions went in for ablation . Ended up having a second . for a very long time I would go in and out without any intervention. Recently started having episodes and had to be cardioverted, but after a few days went back into afib. My Dr

Moscow Ablation / Purpose of Second Cardioversion
This begs the question, if you feel better after your first
cardioversion
why do the NHS insist on a second before giving an ablation? Thanks in advance for any answers.

AF again and long wait for appointment.
I have AF *formally diagnosed Oct 2020) and been in Normal sinus rhythm for 6 months since
cardioversion
in March. 4 weeks ago I went into full AF again and was in casualty overnight. Heart rate down but always an irregular heart rate again.

A fib now a flutter
Going for another
cardioversion
. Did the flecainide pip cause the flutter ? If I would have had an ablation would this have happened anyway with it being from the right atrium vs the left atrium? Now on metoprolol 25 mg with resting heart rate upper 40s . any thoughts?

StartedFlecainide yesterday. No changes yet Suggesting another Defib cardioversion so Flecainide might maintain NSR Anyone else similar ?
Cardioversion
worked for 4 days. Started 50mg Flecainide BD yesterday. Higher from next week. They're saying another
Cardioversion
in Nov, so guess they're not expecting the Flecainide to put me back in NSR. Has anyone else had this treatment like this and it worked ?
