I have a question going on my mind a few days now-cisplatin vs
carboplatin
in ovarian cancer what are the basic criteria’s in choosing one?it has to do with the person?is the one more effective than the other?

Seeking feedback on PSMA Scan results after 6 chemo treatments
Am at Mayo today for scans/bloodwork after 6 chemo (docetaxel +
Carboplatin
) treatments. My PSMA Pet Scan results are below. I was hoping for more dramatic improvement, but I am grateful for ANY improvement (or stabilization). I meet with my doctor early tomorrow morning.

Niraparib side effects
hi everyone, I’ve got grade 3 high grade serous ovarian cancer, I finished 6 rounds of Paclitaxel and
carboplatin
in Desember. I’ve just started 200mg Niraparib three weeks ago but seem to have developed swollen legs, has anyone had any experience of this?

New treatment after being dropped from Pluvicto.
I was dropped from LU177 treatment in late January and started my first round of Docetaxel/
Carboplatin
on 01/30. Lab results on 02/17 showed my platelet count to be very low so was denied the second round of chemo. We did see a significant drop in PSA from 758 to 611 on that lab.

Scared, side effects
Just had my first chemo of paclitaxel and
carboplatin
and wiped me out. Feeling very scared and isolated at the moment so any help or positive support would be so appreciated

2nd line treatment
After a total of 8 cycles of
Carboplatin
and Paclotaxil with Avastin added in part way through and attempted but unsuccessful surgery (due to extensive cancer ‘seeds’ on the peritoneum) I’ve never been NED. I was commenced on Olaparib in November 2022 and the Avastin continues.

Radium-223 + Xtandi?
I’ve been on chemo (cabazitaxel +
carboplatin
) since Jan 2022 and also on Zometa and Lupron. PSA went from 1.3 in Jan 2023 to 11.7 this month. CT and Bone scans show bone mets somewhat stable but with activity, all bone no soft tissue.

Anyone had chemo without surgery?
I have had one line of chemo of Paclitaxil and
Carboplatin
to which I responded fairly well. My CA 125 at diagnosis was just under 20,000 and went down to 88 post chemo. I must stress that I was unable to have surgery as I have a blood clotting condition.

Seeking advice from Lynparza, Rubraca or Zejula patients.
After a left oophorectomy, I began a regimen of 6 rounds of the combo Taxol/
Carboplatin
as it is commonly prescribed for this condition and stage.

Abiraterone/enzalutamide+PARP inhibitor better than abiraterone/enzalutamide alone for mCRPC, even without BRCA+
My guess is that these men will probably also do well with a taxane chemo (docetaxel or cabazitaxel)+
carboplatin
+abiraterone/enzalutamide. The FDA is expected to approve the combination next month.

Preparing for carbo/caelyx
I am experiencing my 1st recurrence and am getting ready to start
carboplatin
/caelyx in a few weeks time. I want to make sure I'm prepped and ready for the side effects- particularly of caelyx which I haven't had before. I believe it can give you mouth ulcers and peeling skin.

Any advice about future treatment?
So now having the 6th and final chemo of this third course (
Carboplatin
and Gemcitabine). And I think my oncologist will just offer "watch and wait" when I talk to him. Has anyone had a similar pathway and been offered treatment at this point?

Has anyone experience of weekly rather than 3 weekly chemo sessions?
I then saw the oncologist who gave me more info on the chemo (Paclitaxel &
carboplatin
) on a 3 week cycle.

Failed tumour surgery, what are my options now?
I underwent radical debulking in June followed by 6 cycles of
carboplatin
and paclitaxel chemotherapy which finished in November 2022. I had a PET scan in December and was told in January 2023 that I had disease progression and a new tumour in the pelvis.

After the 6th infusion of jevtana and carboplatin my husbands psa continues to rise.
after 6 infusions his psa continues to rise. In October he started out at 57 . Today it’s 67. Last scans in December showed mostly stable except for a few new hot spots on the spine. He remains fairly active. He has also had 6 pluvicto treatments last year. Just asking if it’s time to end this treatment

Still here 15 years later
I’ve had the same chemotherapy drugs every time -
Carboplatin
and Taxol (Paclitaxel). So please don’t give up hope as you embark on or as you continue along this journey with ovarian cancer. Be well. Be happy.

experience with Paxitaxel & Carboplatin combo welcome
Starting Paxitaxel &
Carboplatin
this Wednesday. 6 sessions 3 weeks apart planned. I’d love to learn about your experience with this regimen in terms of quality of life and how you tolerated it. I had breast cancer 17 years ago and took 6 rounds of chemo back then.
