What is the chance of losing your hair with Caelyx?
The worst thing for her with the
carboplatin
/paclitaxol was losing her hair, so she was very happy when her oncologist told her she would find a few hairs on her comb but not go bald. Today, reading a MacMillan leaflet on Caelyx she was very depressed to find that she could lose all her hair again.

Guidance (Caelyx & Maintenance)
Unfortunately in October 2017, the Ovarian Cancer came back and was much more aggressive and spread all over, she resumed the
carboplatin
/taxol chemotherapy and added to that was Avastin.. she then had a very bad reaction to
carboplatin
on the second chemotherapy cycle and the doctor stopped it and continued

Neuropathy - how did you deal with it?
Many of us experience neuropathy especially during our first line treatment of
carboplatin
and taxol. I started this thread to collect ideas about how each of you dealt with it - what worked and what didn’t work for you.

Hello, I'm liese, I had ovarian cancer 2004, stage 2A, CA125 6000 before hysterectomy, I then took 6 doses of
carboplatin
and taxol every 3 weeks. 6 months or so later CA125 elevated so I was given another 3 of the same, dose 2, I became allergic to the
carboplatin
, felt really weird...As we all know

Bowel obstructions
I have recently had a short bowel ileostomy January 6th, this happened because of collapsed bowel at the Ileocecal junction due to 2nd reoccurrence, and I was half way through treatment with
Carboplatin
when it happened. Now I’m in hospital again with another obstruction, very painful!

Update on my dad, stage IV NSCLC, and Help needed
Dr said the only other option now is
Carboplatin
and Alimta chemo (standard of care) or a clinical trial they are doing that is
Carboplatin
, Alimta and a third drug called Pirfenidone (FDA approved immune-enhancing drug for lung fibrosis).

First Week Following First Chemo
Received an hour of cabazitaxel and then and hour of
carboplatin
. At the conclusion, I received a Neulasta shot. So, my experience to date - first 2 or 3 days I had strange aches and pains in my legs, but only below the knees. Also had other pains in the hips.

NED update
I'm going to have
Carboplatin
only so we can keep 'taxol in reserve - save it for later! At least there isn't actually a bowel obstruction needing surgery. If I can balance opioids and laxitives just right, and not eat fibre, I might be able to go do some fun stuff - so no 'five-a-day' for me.

Consolidation chemo after concurrent chemo and radiation for nsclc 3b?
His oncologist is recommending consolidation chemo next ( after scans) using
carboplatin
and alimta. Can anyone tell us what to expect from this type of “full strength “ chemo compared to the “light” version he had while doing radiation? He has tolerated this weekly chemo very well.

PSA still rising on 2 types of chemo treatments
So my father has now finished 3 rounds of Jevtana and
carboplatin
. His PSA has only gone up 1-2 points over the last 3 infusions, but today it went up 3 points. Not much compared to The doubling time before but I’m Still concerned if chemo is working or not.

Anyone who has done carboplatin after all other treatments, including early Taxotere?
My husband is wrestling with a looming recommendation of a second course of chemo with
carboplatin
. He did Taxotere early on (CHAARTED protocol). Did great on Xtandi for 2 years, now trying Zytiga (although we've been told it might not work, or work for long).

New Mets- Not good News
Not the news we were praying for😕 my fathers CT scan after 3 rounds of Jevtana and
carboplatin
to treat NEPC in the lymph nodes, we were hoping that the scans show shrinkage of nodes. Instead the CT scan showed multiple Mets to spine and pelvic bones(all new).

No longer prostate cancer
We will start a series of infusions of
Carboplatin
and etoposide every 3 weeks to see if this will slow the process. I will also get an indwelling catheter to remove the pleural effusions so I can breathe.

Jevtana Not Working
He has already done 4 of 6 Taxotere and 6
Carboplatin
and Etoposide treatments. We cannot afford the high cost of Xtandi and because of liver cannot use Zytiga. Thank you for your thoughts.

My Mom's CA-125 has risen after first Chemo
My mom was platinum sensitive before, with her CA-125 dropping down to a low of 3 after her first line chemo, and that was over 2 years ago, so on paper at least,
Carboplatin
should work again for her. Thanks, Michael

Rechallenge with Xtandi
Last chemo Docetaxel/
Carboplatin
chemo cycle was 1/9/18 and PSA had fallen from 10.8 to .4. While on my chemo break, PSA started to rise again, so about 2 1/2 weeks ago, we decided to give Xtandi a second chance.

Anyone else on blood thinners?
I've been on blood thinning medication for years because I have a genetic problem called Leiden V, which means I get deep vein thrombosis - had loads down the years, so that's why I'm on permanent meds for it Now they want to give me piclataxel,
carboplatin
and avastin - I note that piclataxel might
