Alendronic acid tablets
Although I was diagnosed with PMR over a year ago I was not prescribed alendronic acid tablets until a month ago due to an oversight at the surgery However I have not responded well to these tablets at all with even worse reflux and mouth ulcers over the following 24 hours. I take 40mg of esomeprazole

Just had phone call from Endocrinologist.
I got a letter from the Endocrinologist last month asking me to come in to see him in person. I got the impression that he had had a call from 'Monitor my health' - as he knew the name of the lab as he was checking his PC, also because I had been dismissed, & suddenly I got a letter out of the blue.

Reintroducing dairy
Has anyone had any luck reintroducing dairy? I'm gluten, dairy and soy free after reading Dr.Wentz's books and chats on here. I try and eat whole foods (although do occasionally slip up) and am happy to report I am losing weight. I have started to eat meat because of the hair loss whereas before I

Taking Vit D at the same time as prednisolone
Apologies if this had been asked before. In your opinion is it OK to take Vit D alone, i.e. without calcium, at the same time as prednisolone? Thanks

Stressed and Confused
Hi All, This is my first time posting. Just went for a Coronary CT Angiogram and was told I have what looks like a 50 percent blockage in one of the arteries into my heart (not sure which one). On two occasion in the last year I've had some mild / chest arm pain for about 5-10 minutes, and thought it

Vitamin K
This is in response to some who replied to "Blood Thinners" (middlejoel). Vitamin K does not "cause" blood to clot. Sure, the "K" stands for "Koagulation" (German), but that is because vitamin K is essential for normal clotting. It is not safe to be vitamin K deficient. K is essential

Recommendations for heart MOT ?
This year I reached my 60th birthday and its now 12 years since my mild heart attack, where they found my main coronary artery was 95% blocked. I don't go to the hospital for a regular check-up but have been back to see a consultant with one or two issues over the years...the last time having an echocardiography

THE PHOSPHATE RETENTION THEORY RE: SMALL, HARD LUMPS
Hi All, Was just wondering if anyone has an issue with hard lumps? Mine seem restricted to my abdomen and thighs. They are very painful to the touch, almost like if you had just been stung by a bee. During my never-ending research on fibro and fibro issues, I came across this site by an Israeli doctor

Hydroxypropyl distarch phosphate (modified starch) - Yes, or No?
Hi I'm getting some mixed info on 'starch' as a safe ingredient for coeliac, mainly as it's origin may be of questionnable source, i.e. wheat/gluten. The info I have gleaned is that if the product is marked GF, it's fine, but from my own experience it is not. I had some seed-based crackers yesterday

Looking for some advice on taking the right dose of Calcium and Vit D3.
I've just had a dexa scan. I had my last one in May 2020 (before diagnosis) which showed mild to moderate osteopenia. Since August 2020 I've been on prednisolone and a Calcium and Vit D supplement (as well as magnesium, biotin, Vit B complex) so I wanted to see whether or not my osteopenia had become

Supplements and medication?
Since being diagnosed over the phone with suspected angina in Nov and only having spoken to a cardiac nurse to answer some form questions I've not had the chance to talk to anyone about what is going on or what I should/shouldn't be doing etc. I have learnt a few things by research and reading posts

osteoporosis
Hi - Sorry I was unable to include this image two days ago, but now finally managed. These are my bone scan results. Are they very serious? I am taking Vit D (4,000 iu) and big Calcium religiously (now, out of fear) and upped the walking to 50 mins per day. Difficult because of fatigue lately. Do you

New blood results: High TPOAb, High CRP (high sensitivity)Result and High trend cholesterol.
I decided to have my blood tested through Thriva after my GP said I did not need to have my blood tested. My TSH, B12 and folate could not be processed as I didn't have enough blood, I gave them to samples, so I am now in discussion with Thriva to see whether I can have TSH, B12 and folate tested. Here

Hello ladies I had a CT scan of the head on Saturday due to ongoing tinnitus in left ear and it constantly feeling 'full'. My oncologist has just called me to let me know that he has just had the report which shows 'abnormalities'. The left ear does show something on a small bone within it and there
