accord brand of buprenorphine causing nausea???
hello - I started taking the accord brand of buprenorphine last night having moved from the morningside make because those tablets were small and difficult to cut…… after half a tablet I had panic / shakiness that I hadn’t experienced with the morningside tablets…. After three x half tablets (0.6mg)

Dobutamine stress test
I've just received a letter with an appointment for a dobutamine stress test. No explanation why and I still haven't had results from my 24hr monitor and CT angiograms done two months ago. My consultant appointment was cancelled and I'm still waiting for a new one. My echocardiagram was normal. I'm a

Why the rush to have an ablation?
In my twelve years living with Afib, every Cardiologist I have seen ( including an EP I saw, for a second opinion ) have told me, that Ablation should only be a last resort. My first Cardiologist in Florida, going so far as to say " do you really want them to burn holes in your heart?" So I am curious

Has anyone had problems with Flecainide not working?
Hi everyone. I am hoping someone can suggest my next course of action. I was diagnosed with paroxymal atrial fibrillation last November and was prescribed Sotalol (40mg twice daily). For the next 8 months (monitoring with a Kardia device and an Omron BP monitor), I detected episodes of AFib every few

Apple Watch
Curious to hear from anyone using an Apple Watch ECG app to monitor afib. On mine I can get a reading saying afib and then immediately measure again and get sinus. I recently started taking Dofetilide, so maybe the medication is helping to resolve afib episodes. Any thoughts on how accurate Apple Watch

AV Node Ablation and Pacemaker
Hi lovely people, I promised I’d get back to you after seeing a cardiologist/electrophysiologist privately. As you might guess from the title, this is what he believes will solve my problem. I will still be in persistent Afib, but won’t feel it. In the meantime he has doubled my digoxin dose and I will

Arrhythmia and Afib are they the same ?
my cardiologist tells me i have severe arrhythmia and will need to take anti coagulants indefinitely; i also had my pprolapsed mitral valve replaced 3 years ago, whether one or other of these conditions existed first is not known. Other than warfarin I take Ezetrol to lower cholesterol. I have no idea

Failed first ablation, dilt + Carvedilol= bad orthostatic hypotension, bradycardia, 15-20lb wt gain
First episode of PAF occured 2019 2 mos after wife diagnosed w cancer, my cardiologist thinks not coincidental. (My myasthenia gravis was also dx 2019, but had sx for 3-4yrs) Later, Dec 2022, afib episodes much more frequent, lasting longer when she was worsening despite chemotherapy w terrible side

I have managed my Atrial Fibrillation since being diagnosed in 2017, but the last month I have had problems with low heart rate 31-40 & then A/F lasting for over 24hours at a time . Cardiologist suggested medication Disopyramide 250mgs twice a day has anyone used this ? He said if this doesn’t work

Dofetilide
I have afib and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy along with a history of 3 ablations and 7 cardioversions. I recently started taking Dofetilitde after the required 3 day hospital stay. IT is now 10 day later and I still have passing epidodes of afib. I am interested to hear about anyone else on defetilide

Distended stomach & abdomen after ablation
Bit of a strange one this, so thought I'd ask if anyone else has had a similar experience and a diagnosis. I had my 2nd catheter ablation 4 days ago under Gen Aanaesthetic; the ablation, plus cardioversion, seems to have gone well (allowing for it being very early days) and the groin wound is healing

Humidity and AF
Hi all. Here in SW England we’ve had such heavy, humid weather the past few days. Does anyone else struggle with more breathlessness and fatigue in these conditions? I have persistent AFib and normally get a bit puffed, but this seems twice the normal load, Not to mention the havoc it has caused with

Update on post ablation - day 6
Hi. Well after posting such a positive message to try to cheer up anyone waiting for their first ablation, I came back down to earth with a bump. I felt so well on Wednesday (ablation on Tuesday) that I did everything I felt like doing but at about 01.30, I got a full-blown AF episode which I wasn't

flecainide and eliquis
flecainide was prescribed 50 mg bid when afib episodes became more frequent when taking pill in the pocket. eliquis was also started then 6 months ago. Haven't had any afib episodes since taking flecainide bid. Before asking cardiologist, is eliquis ordinarily continued for the elderly when there are

How quickly do tablets work?
Day 1 of taking 2.5mg of bisoprolol and 60mg edoxaban...how quickly should the tablets start to work? Monitoring blood pressure and worried if the dosage is too high

Sotalol Drug Load
Scheduled to shift from Metoprolol and Diltiazem to Sotalol this next week. Choice of yet another ablation (6th one) was given but I figured, “why keep scarring up my heart?” Did I make the right decision? Seems to me ablations aren’t working and they just manage to damage my heart, albeit in a controlled
