Post Ablation AFib episodes .. frustrating
I had my Ablation about 3 1/2 months ago. I did not have any AFib recurrence that I'm aware of during the blanking period and was taking a beta blocker, a rhythm med, and anticoagulant. Was a bit rougher blanking than expected with early fever, regular headaches and low energy etc but no AFib! Hooray

Asymptomatic
Hi, Just out of curiosity ........... at the time of or around the time of diagnosis of any one of a myriad types of AF has anyone been described as " asymptomatic". Further, what ranking of medic used this term, i.e. EP, Cardiac Consultant or a bog standard Dr. Further again, are you aware if this

Clexane and aspirin post 12 weeks
Hi everyone, I'm currently 9+6 and was wondering for those taking Clexane and aspirin, how long did you take those medicines? My clinic is talking about weaning me off everything from week 12 but I feel like I've seen women are taking the blood thinners later? Advice appreciated! Thanks x

NSAIDs
Hello All! I am writing to ask about the received wisdom of NSAIDs in this group... I have wicked foot and Achilles problems and it is possible an NSAID would be helpful. But apparently some are linked with a 76% higher probability of having Afib! A cursory glance at google tells me that Naproxen

Lupus Anticoagulant testing while on Warfarin
I have searched the group but I do not seem to find what I need to know. If your hematologist insist on testing for Lupus Anticoagulant how many days must you stop warfarin before the test? The hematologist says that the DVRTT test works without stopping Warfarin. But I have read many times that while

Feeling Cold
I know it has been extremely cold and most of us are being extra careful with the use of gas and electricity since the price hikes. But I still seem to feel the cold a lot more than others. I was wondering if its to do with taking blood thinners clopidogrel ?

Covid and INR
I know a lot of you on this forum take the newer
anticoagulants
but my cardiologist wants to keep me on Warfarin. It’s a couple of weeks since my last INR and my next one is a week away and I am a little anxious that the number is creeping up.

Sudden exhaustion. help?!?
Hello all... I was on levothyroxine (t4) AND Liothyronine (t3) but had constant heart reactions so chosen to return to levo only. This was in July 2022. I had been on 75mcg T4/5mcg T3 for some years. I had to lower and then raise slowly because of my overreaction to raises, it was all going well

Anticoagulant switching
There have been a few post recently about pressure to switch from apixaban to other
anticoagulants
. I’ve been on apixaban for a number of years now and so far not been asked to change.

Shockwave Therapy By Chiropractor
I just went to a Chiropractor for treatment of agonizing pain in my upper back. He wants to treat me with shockwave therapy but I have concerns of this affecting my atrial fibrillation. I am presently only taking an anticoagulant, and no other meds for my AF. Has anyone had this type of treatment

Esomeprasole
It's my understanding that taking
anticoagulants
contribute to this but also taking proton pump inhibitors also has an effect . I have been on Esomeprasol for 12 months now , previous to that I was on lanzoprasol for many years due to severe acid reflux .

Atrial Fibulation from cancer treatment not standard Afib. Update post EP Consultation
Hello Everyone so as promised an update. I saw my EP on Friday. He explained that Afib usually occurs around certain sites in the left Atrium (? Is that the correct term) and these are the sites they target when doing an Ablation. He said when we do cryo we can't see where the electrical impulses are
