After 6 months
Last night was the first time since my ablation on April 1 that I have felt af. It lasted about 1/2 an hour and went away I’ll call my cardiologist today as I am no longer on a blood thinner. I am only on a dose of metoprolol. Will see what his input is Hopefully it is a one time occurrence.

Update from Marilyn and Caution (not to attribute all symptoms to PMR and / or Pred.
Thanks to those who responded to my recent posts re Resus and Atrial Fibrillation diagnosis. As always your help, support and encouragement made a difficult time easier. I am now home with meds to control heart rate and precautionary blood thinners. Having had a heart scan, prior to discharge, I now

Developed a 2nd dvt after resuming eliquis
Talked too soon :( I stopped taking eliquis end of June and am back to taking xarelto starting August. I was on eliquis for 3 months and were the worst of my life. Somehow i managed to develop a new dvt on the same leg (right) as last one, different spot. Feeling so discouraged... i know it all gets

Any women AF'ers, also struggling with heavy periods/anaemia on blood thinners ?
I have had fibroids for a no of years, that kept my iron levels n haemoglobin low. Now anaemic again, with excessive blood loss. Can't be good for my heart, may well be a causal factor for my AF in first place. Any one else similar ?

Reflections on Patient’s Day, Birmingham, 2019, a very personal overview.
Warning:- some material contains a portion of personal ranting on outdated NHS protocols so some readers may need to look away at that point. I thought a post may help me to digest the day if I posted a short(ish?) impression for those who may be thinking of attending future events or of what goes on

HAVING A TOOTH REMOVED WHILST ON BLOOD THINNERS
I had a stent put in, in July of this year and since then a tooth that I had a filling done to it about two and half years ago is giving me problems. The filling has come out and the tooth has broken at the root. Obviously I will have to come off the blood thinners but then that frightens me in case

Thoughts Needed
Anticoagulants
help reduce the risk of clots and/or clots that are there. But do they also just ensure that your blood is normal? For me, I’m not sure at this point about clots but I have seen the effects of this disease in my brain. Would thinning my blood as opposed to just aspirin help?

Anybody experience extreme fatigue whilst in sinus node? Can my daily episodes of extreme fatigue/tiredness be caused by Rivaroxaban?
Hello again and big thank you to all who replied to my last post. No end of good advice and reassurance. I am suffering daily spells of extreme fatigue. Just comes over me, so strong that sometimes I think I might fall over. Could it be side effect of the anticoagulant Rivaroxaban? Anybody got experiences

Hi forgive the long post. My very fit young for his age 73 husband has 3 weeks ago been diagnosed with A fib. It all started with extreme dizziness lightheaded. No pain. He was also fetching awfully but only white froth coming up. Paramedics called who thought he had an inner ear infection until they

update on my quest.
Hi, sorry it has been a while, I have now had my second appointment at Derriford and a lovely letter from Guys and ST Thomas'. The letter stated that as I have had 3 consecutive miscarriages and that I have an anticardiolipin antibody of Igm, that fulfilled the criteria for obstetric antiphospholipid

What a to do.
What I would like to know is do steroids thin the blood? I posted this somewhere yesterday but it seemed to disappear. I was given Apixaban anticoagulant because of A/F. Within four weeks I had collapsed and was taken to Resus with a Haemaglobin of 57. I had 4 transfusions and the consensus was that

AV Node Ablation with pacemaker
Scheduled for AV Node Ablation in November. I'm concerned that I will be missing an opportunity for better treatment if i have this ablation. There seems to be more negative information than positive except from the medical doctors. I have had two ablations for A Fib and two ablations for A Flutter.
