What Now Pt 2
To follow up on my previous post "What Now" I went ahead and had my PCP order a DEXA Scan, after Oncologist said "Not Necessary, you're on Xgeva and your psa is low". Dexa revealed Osteopenia. Hip and Spine is -1.5 and femoral neck is -2.3 (flirting with osteoporosis). I'm asking myself Why The F@@

A Different View on Bone Protection
Replied to a question about bone protective medications on another forum today, and thought it might be of interest to some here at FPC. So pasting it here. Full disclosure: I have been taking denosumab (Prolia or Xgeva) for over 5 years and currently have normal bone density. I also take Calcium supplement

When should you start taking Bisphosphonates, or bone strengthening medications.
I have been on continuous ADT since 2017 plus chemo and now Abiraterone with prednisone. The last year I have increased back and rib pain. The pain follows after I lift any heavy objects and usually at night when lying in bed. I defiantly have lost a lot of strength as well. I try and work out 3 times

First injection of Lu177-PNT2002 as part of SPLASH trial
I just received the first injection of Lu177 on 11/10/22. So far the side effects have not been bad. Fatigue has been the primary SE, along with headache. The fatigue is probably worse than what comes with ADT, but still very tolerable. There have luckily been no issues with nausea or diarrhea . Some

ct/mri vs PSMA SCAN
i’ve already had a prostatectomy and subsequent radiation and a ADT treatment. PSA has now started to rise again after a year off of ADT and is at approximately 1.5 Psa. after 12 months of active surveillance. A PSMA scan was done when it was at .8 and found nothing. Also CAT scan MRI was done when

Ultra-sensitive PSA Following Prostatectomy Reliably Identifies Patients Requiring Post-Op Radiotherapy
uPSA Ultra-sensitive PSA Following Prostatectomy Reliably Identifies Patients Requiring Post-Op Radiotherapy Using first postoperative PSA cutoff ≥0.2 ng/mL has only 46% sensitivity to detect failures. If the relapse cutoff is lowered to first postoperative uPSA ≥0.03, sensitivity substantially increased

Can this be considered castrate resistance?
Hi all My father was diagnosed with PCa last year in April with an initial PSA of 500. Through ADT his PSA dropped to 0.4 in 16 months. In the last 3 months his PSA has increased as follows: September: 0.42 October: 0.45 November: 0.53 Is this considered three consecutive increases which people talk

Anyone with experience of FWGE? TNVANS asked the same question 3 years ago, but now there is this paper on a pilot clinical trial.

Adt and heart arrythmia
Has anyone experienced heart arrythmia whilst taking zoladex. This is my husbands second time taking adt in 5 years since a ct scan shows 2 pelvic lymph nodes. we cannot recall this side effect first time around, although it is classed as a side effect. He is having a Holter monitor on for 24hrs next

Hey lucky me - I now have 2 cancers
I wrote about this 2 months ago and things have changed so I'm re-writing my post: It's important to note I skipped my May Lupron injection.
8/30 Mayo C11 Choline Pet scan:
1. New choline avid marrow occupying lesion in the mid right humerus likely represents metastaticdisease. Additional focus

They're BAAAACK - medicare election time for 2023 - so confusing
Would like some thoughts on my next year change option for Medicare or Medicare Advantage looking forward to keeping Prostate Cancer at bay. I finished my HDR Brachy and 25 Sessions of EBRT/IGRT for a Stage 3 (no mets) back in the Spring and early summer. I have been on an Aetna Advantage program.

Inflatable Penile Implants
I think this topic is appropriate for this group so I will introduce it today since I can't find a prior discussion on the site. Sexuality is very important to me, an 18 year prostate cancer survivor at age 68. It is also important to my partner. My research indicates high satisfaction for each partner

Get a bone density test if you have PC and are taking Abiraterone etc
ADT leads to accelerated bone loss. So does being 70 years plus of age. A bone density test is painless and quick and can see signs well before osterporesis fractures etc. I'm on 5 months of ADT (Firmagon first, RT with Lupron, then after RT added Abiraterone plus Prednisone.) GLTA

UPDATE AFTER IMRT
Haven't posted in a while, but here's a quick update (My Bio has the full details from diagnosis to present.). After recovering from RALP in mid February I had my PSA checked in late May. PSA was 8.11 which led to my Urology Oncologist (UO) starting me on Casodex & Eligard, and ordering a GA-68 PSMA-PET

Lookin for next phase of my PC fight
Just a short background. Surgery in 2009, IMRT completed in 08/2021 when PSA was at 0.12. I had a negative PSMA pet scan when my PSA was 0.3. My latest PSA result on 11/4/20222 was 0.42 up from 0.3 6 months ago. Because of my age, my Oncologist wants to wait as long as possible before starting me

Back to ADT
My PSA continues to climb - after radiation and two years of lupron/zytiga ending in Jan 21- my PSA is going back up - it was 0.1 in Sept 21 then to 0.2 in March 22, to 0.4 in Sept 22 and now 0.6 in October. Once i hit 0.4 - went to Mayo to get established with them - because it became evident that

What now?
T-11 vertebral compression fracture ( osteoporotic/insufficiency fracture ) should I be concerned? Is this the result of 3-1/2 years of ADT + Zytiga??

Sildenafil for ADT side effect?
I have had total ED since my first 3 month Eligard injection on August 11. I had my second injection today, Nov. 3. My Medical Oncologist is a DO and thinks I may be on ADT for a total of 18 months. I may start 28 sessions of EBRT soon. I'm worried about penile atrophy. Would it be a good idea to ask

New PSA reading update
Got the results of the latest bloodwork today - my prognosis 0.1 measured 0.1 - put a smile on my face!!! So things are proceeding in a steady enough decline that I can accurately predict the value 3 months ahead. (see the curve on my profile) Take aways are: no noticable different on the decline
