Targinact
I have had RLS for over 20 years and have tried most medications, the latest being Pregabalin, which was good but is now not working so well. I therefore asked my GP if I could try Targinact as I read this is now licensed for RLS. He has agreed and I just need to taper Pregabalin. Can anyone

Treating anaemia alongside thyroid medication
Having been on T3 only for about 8 months, I have made some massive strides in terms of my general health. Most of the symptoms that had me at my absolute lowest ebb, have gone. However, if one remains it is a general feeling of weakness. I used to weight lift 4 - 5 times a week before thyroid illness

RLS & BURPRENORPHINE
Hello everyone, I had been on Oxy for the past couple of years for pain. Recently I switched pain doctors and he switched the Oxy to Buprenorphine 8mg (film). The Buprenorphine, like a miracle, stopped my RLS immediately and it also controlled my pain so much better than the Oxy. In the past couple

hi there. Wanted to know what kind of symptoms people have had with low ferritin. I have terrible muscle twitches, bad at night and am increasingly sluggish. Iron levels normal but ferritin 23 (30-150), folate 31.9 (8.83-60.8), vit b12 active 73 (37.5-188), D 98 (50-250) Predictably doctor was unconcerned

Promethazine Hydrochloride
hi I have been desperate for sleep but my RLS has been so bad that I’ve found it impossible I managed to get a GP appointment and told her my story and background and although she was sympathetic said the RLS I’d very difficult to control I told her I had no desire to go back on to a DA and my problems

Communicating to GP about treatment needs
Reading everywhere it seems shots regularly is still a key for autoimmune pernicious
anaemia
and this all doesn't make sense. Might be that they rarely see this , and even more rare at my age. I'm 32 this year. What can i do to explain that i could really use the shots?

He said that my symptoms that I listed could be a result of
anaemia
and not thyroid related.

Spring Covid Booster
Hi everyone, it’s a while since I posted (I’ve been recovering from a bad fall in March) but I read the posts everyday. I have a question re the latest Covid booster in the UK. I saw my Gp a few days ago on another matter and mentioned the Covid booster as I was refused during the first round. In

PPI complications
The loss of Intrinsic Factor leads to Pernicious
Anaemia
as the stomach can no longer process B12 for use in crucial bio-chemical exchanges. This is irreversible and requires injected B12 for life. Think twice before taking PPIs. I don't know if gentler H2 Blockers have the same effect.

potential endo diagnosis
I’ve also had numerous blood tests to look for
anaemia
amongst other things due to being so tired and bruising easily. I never thought to connect these issues or the fact that I’ve always had heavy and then horrendously painful periods as I just assumed a bowel issue was more likely.

Vitamin B12 produced by gut bacteria modulates cholinergic signalling
I simply can't help but think that this has some relevance to Pernicious
Anaemia
. But goodness knows what! And the lack of access precludes reading it all to try to find out.

FIT test & Endo
Had my yearly bloods done and came back low folate and
anaemia
so dr trying to find out why I am anaemic, had both fit test and still test and both have came back abnormal. Just wondering if maybe bowel endometriosis could be a cause to flag up in the fit test but not be seen on the colonoscopy.

Low iron in pregnancy; Spatone recommended - what was tested?
My daughter (euthyroid, six months pregnant, vegetarian) has just been for a check up with the midwife and has been told “your iron is low. It’s 109 and we worry if it goes below 105 so you’d better get some Spatone”. I don’t know much about iron but from this site I have learned that a full iron panel
