Confused about folate
I might also post this on the Pernicious
Anaemia
group but I think this group has provided better methylation info in the past - I’m just struggling to find the right bits just now.

Hi All I just wanted to share this link which feature Dr Chandy talking about B12 deficiency. I am in both the fibromyalgia group and the one for pernicious anemia. I have been struggling lately with extreme fatigue, pins and needs, numbness in my arms, pain etc, worse then normal. I figured a Fibro

Vitamin D and Anemia: Insights into an Emerging Association
Found an interesting study. The conclusion sold it for me. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4659411/ CONCLUSION Vitamin D is associated with anemia in various study populations and recent evidence suggests that the association may differ by race and is likely specific to anemia of inflammation

ferritin still low
As mentioned before my ferritin is 13, can’t tolerate any oral form and have had infusions in the past. Am being denied infusion as Full bloods are within range, no idea what to do now, eating plenty of iron rich foods, feeling really unwell and down. Recent test results: B12=651(187-883), vit D=92(

Hypothesis II
My hypothesis is that the antibody that attacks the intrinsic factor and or parietal cell may also bind to B12 rendering it unusable at the cellular level. That the production of the antibody with regards to amount is unknown and different at different times for the individual and different for each

Help please!! Question about breathlessness and heart rate
I have looked online and it says it’s the result of the
anaemia
but many people with b12 deficiency have these symptoms but do not have the
anaemia
so in these cases what would be the cause?

Peripheral neuropathy and neurology's response
It is unlikely that she has functional B12 deficiency with no
anaemia
/normal MCV (it's very rare). I don't know if there can be a toxic effect from the B12 injections. We can see her but it will take a long time as a routine OP. My questions!

When will it end?
But best of all I discovered why a distant cousin was obliged to eat raw liver - she died young, of Pernicious
Anaemia
; also her brother who had 'neurasthenia' and the fact that it sounded as if he too had PA; he died too. And their baby sister / toddler died too. So where do I go from here?

Massachusetts Opioid Register Year 4 results
I attach the latest Massachusetts Opioid Register results, showing the medications taken by participants and the doses. Dr Winkelman set up the Register to show that addiction and tolerance are unlikely to happen when low dose opioids are used for RLS. For those who have augmented on dopamine agonists

ALS and B12
I ran across an article that was interesting, if for no other reason, for its quite detailed description of B12 deficiency. Scroll down to the heading, "Vitamin B12 levels and MND/ALS". https://jmedicalcasereports.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/1752-1947-4-298

teeth clenching
I’m titrating NDT Armour over the last year but I’ve got a hypo symptom that’s bothering me, nighttime teeth clenching. I have no knowledge I’m doing this. I take amitriptyline and once I get to sleep midnight to 1am, I’m out for the count. I think the dentist told me September 2023 that I was clenching

Amlodipine Fatigue
I've had a whole raft of blood tests so I know it's not caused by
anaemia
or anything. I don't really want to spend the rest of my days feeling like I could sleep most of the day but I'm prepared to put up with it for now if there's a chance it may pass. Grateful for any input.

Interesting article about the effects of Covid19 on your blood
Having caught Covid19 a short time after my allo SCT and with my
anaemia
ongoing, I was interested to see this article. This is not CLL specific but worth a read. "[i]Several studies have reported, in COVID-19 patients, hematological abnormalities.

Imerslund-Gräsbeck one to know about
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imerslund%E2%80%93Gr%C3%A4sbeck_syndrome I had an argument last week with a Dr 'Fresh out the box' quoting the text book at me. He said the intrinsic factor antibody test was 95% accurate. So I retorted maybe I was one of the 5%! "That would be very unlikely." About 5
