Amitriptyline - please take care
If you are someone who finds amitripyline helpful and are happy to stay on it indefinitely please do not be alarmed by this post but I just wanted people to know that - despite what doctors say - it can be extremely difficult to come off it. I have been taking it for about 20 years for various things

The medicine I take that's suppose to help (It doesn't help) are: Codeine/Paracetamol effverfecent
Amitriptyline
loperamide hydrochloride I also suffer with Gastritis and Esophagitis. I do not smoke, drink or do drugs and I'm also a vegan and I've also been following a FODmap diet too.

Dystonia & eye twitch
Can I also mention I suffer with trigeminal neuralgia and currently take
amitriptyline
and gabapentin for this, I don't take anything for the dystonia as again the doctor said Botox would only really work to stop these tremors. Thank you for taking the time to read my long boring status.

I have recently stopped taking tramadol after many years and I am now withdrawing from

but the night sweats ,hot and cold and the not sleeping is very hard. I feel tired but struggle to drop off and then when I do I awake every hour or so either in a hot sweat or a cold shiver.

Just looking for advice..
I have been prescribed a 10mg dose of the antidepressant
Amitriptyline
because he said this will help reduce the sensitivity of the bowel. I was told if this doesn't help then I need to see my GP to increase the dose to 20 or 30mg.

Experiences of Amitriptyline?
I recently went to a pain management consultant who recommended I start taking
Amitriptyline
for the pain. Does anyone here have a first hand account of using
Amitriptyline
and how it has affected you? I have never been on a sustained medication before so am concerned about the side effects.

Curiouser & curiouser (or feeling baffled by my FND journey)
The pain thankfully cleared after a short course of
amitriptyline
. I was still fatigued, but thought that would pass. I went back to work. Since then, I've had to go to a neurology clinic every 6 months. To be honest, I thought I'd recovered after that 1st episode.

Could it be fibromyalgia
I take co codamol 30/500 mg like smarties, naproxen,
amitriptyline
at night. I work full time, active job, stressful at times. I put aches and pains down to job and thyroid condition. But I have begun thinking differently, hyper sensitive to sound, smells and touch.

Amitriptyline and pregabalin
The doctor prescribed me
Amitriptyline
today, my mum has said it really helps her so thought great. However, I was wondering if any one knows if you can take these together? Also, I am on the pill (Rigevidon) and I read that you shouldn't take that with
Amitriptyline
? Any advice?

? wrong diagnosis
She also suggested my pains were caused by quality sleep depravation, hence the
Amitriptyline
. I must stay on 7mgs of preds she said and not reduce because of the inflammation. So today, (4 months later) she seemed very distracted. Has decided that maybe I have none of the above.
