Convinced I'm going to have a heart attack!
More or less every night for the last 4 to 5 months I spend my time panicking over having a heart attack. So much so that I don't want to go for a drink with friends or am to scared to play football with my 9 year old son! I have had an ECG which came back fine, but my head is telling me : how could

Heart attack symptoms?? Or not
I just had a sudden onset of pain in my jaw, it was both sides and radiated within minutes down to my chest where I felt crushing pain...all the while the ache in my jaw and my neck persisted. This happened to me about a month ago, twice...each time it eventually went away, within approx 3-4 mins I think

T3 and chest pain
Hi I'm sorry about posting this question again but I still have chest pain. I take 20 micrograms of Liothyronine. It feels like indigestion and develops into an ache around my heart and if I don't rest the pain goes to my left shoulder( but this rarely happens) but the chest ache is every day. I told

Recovering from Heart Attack
I am a 56 years old male who had two heart attacks in January. I had a double stent put in and I am yaking blood thinning medication as well as simvastatin. But there have been psychological issues for me - almost every day there is a point where I am sure that I am about to die. This is mainly because

I can't take it anymore!
I have had this anxiety for 6 months and once I was able to cure myself and get back to my old life. I faced my fears. But suddenly 2 months ago everything started all over again when I was alone! The shortness of breath, heart palpitations and chest pain. Those three symptoms really scare the hell out

PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND THIS
I really can't stand this. I have to share this. I am getting constant chest pains since lunch. Maybe I am mixing heart burns with chest pains. I just want some help to understand whether my condition is chest pain, or a heart burn. OR what is even the difference between these 2 things. What is happening

Cholesterol in the NEWS
Two very interesting article in the copy of the daily mail in the health section. Looking at the cost comparison, "Will NHS have the budget for it?" This may not be new but very interesting. Jab cuts cholesterol better than statins and may halve patients' chances of suffering a heart attack and dying

Statins, Beta Blockers and the Brain
I had a heart attack a little over a three years ago and I had two stents fitted and I was put on Atorvastatin, Ramipril, Bisoprolol Fumarate as well as asperin (and something to neutralise the asperin). The first thing I noticed after a short time had passed was that I had difficulty concentrating,

My husband has just returned from his GP with a prescription for statins. He's feeling confused about whether to take them.
My hubby is 62 and a type 2 diabetic 5.6 (on medication) His blood pressure is normal. His weight is perfect for his height. His total cholesterol is 3.2 (he doesn't know the broken down figures). He's never had any heart problems and is in decent health otherwise. The doctor prescribed 20mg of Atorvastatin

This is an Indian study done by Indian Doctors and published in the Indian Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery - Jul–Sep 2006, Volume 22, Issue 3, pp 159-164. This is not some newspaper piece where different doctors can give contradicting views. The entire paper is available on commercial

Why Warfarin, Apixaban, Dabigatran, or Rivaroxaban???
I'm at a loss to understand why GPs and cardiologists have a preference for one or the other of the anticoagulants. Warfarin is more or less understandable based on history and familiarity and ease of tracking effectiveness. It's also understandable why many patients, including myself, don't want to
