Seeking help on latest test results
Hi, I have just had my third set of blood tests done, following an increase to 100mg levothyroxin 8 weeks ago. My results are interesting. My (private) GP had a suspicion after my first lot of results (8 weeks on 50mg levothyroxin) that I may not be converting T4 to T3 well, and I think these results

Hello againThanks to those who responded to my last post. I have had time to digest and gone though all my various blood test results and would appreciate any advice. Background recap, I had a partial thyroidectomy (left side removed due to large nodule) in April 2023. No idea why the nodule grew,

NHS Testing
Hi - those of use lucky enough to be prescribed T3 on the NHS: Does your endocrinologist test T3 and T4 or just TSH? I know too many just rely on TSH but to the extent that they don’t even test T3 or T4 when you’re on Liothyronine? I had a monitoring test that seems to only have been TSH. I will

adrenaline rush wakes me every morning
I wake up early every morning with a rush of adrenaline..which feels very uncomfortable, it completely prevents me from going back to sleep, and my legs and feet ache and burn, so I end up just getting up early to make it all stop. I have low thyroid and am on 50 mcg. of levo, but still quite tired most

Struggling
My understanding GP left our practice a few months ago. I was asked to have a blood test as an annual medication review. My TSH had climbed from 0.46 to 1.24 (0.4-4.5). I was taking 50mg Levo but was tired, my hair was falling out, I felt cold and my weight had climbed by 5kg. The GP rang to ask me to

Medication Review
I have booked a medication review for next Tuesday. This will be my first such review since May last year. As always the surgery has not sent me a blood test form so there will be no real discussion and nothing will be gained from the exercise, but I now have two questions for the pharmacist who will

Changing time of meditation
Hi, is it possible that by changing the time of your dose of thyroxine from morning to night can affect the absorption giving you effectively a higher dose? I have taken 100mcg early morning 3-4 hours before food for a long long time. My T4 was slightly over range on last blood test in July but I changed

Low TSH
Hi all, Underactive Thyroid diagnosed in 2018, have been taking 125 Levothyroxine since then with minimal changes in bloods in this time, well managed symptoms and not much to report. Had routine bloods done in May to find a low TSH of 0.27, GP asked for bloods again in 3 months and have just had

levothyroxine and metavive?
Hi - I just wondered if anyone takes levothyroxine and metavive together. I take levothyroxine for Hashimoto’s. It’s ok but I don’t convert from T4 to T3 that well - I wondered if a small dose of metavive in addition would help? I’m on a 100 of levo and was thinking of adding a very small dose of metavive

Help with Blood Test Results again please.
Hello again, I would really appreciate feedback on my last test results please. Thanks to your previous advice I managed to convince an Endocrinologist to increase my Levothyroxine from 75mcg to 88mcg which I have been taking since last April. At the time of the last results I had been on that dose

Query of whether I have Pernicious Anaemia
I have been told by one Dr that I have Pernicious Anaemia as my B12 was low this year and last year. My ferritin was also low. I had been on a high dose of PPis for 4 years and intermittently for many years before that. Intrinsic factor this year was negative and when I had a gastroscopy last year

6ft 2in & 25mcg levo
Hi allJust a bit of a rant. My sister told me a while ago that my nephew had been diagnosed with a thyroid problem. Spoke to him today. He is a big guy. He is on 25mcg levo as 'his levels are only a little low and he just needs a top-up' according to his gp. They have however put him on statins as his

Prescribed Levothyroxine but I have no symptoms........
Hello, I am new to here and new to my diagnosis of Hashimoto disease. Basically I feel fit and healthy, have no symptoms of hypothyroidism, but a recent blood test indicated I have hypothyroidism. I am just wondering why I would take the medication if I am feeling fit and healthy with no symptoms

Reducing to 25mcg Levo only
Hi all. Just wondered if anyone has ended up on 25 mcg Levo only (no T3 or NDT) as an ongoing, not starter dose? Just had my bloods back (below) and my TSH remains low and T3 high despite dropping from 75 to 50 Levo 3 months ago. TSH .01 ( .3 - 4.2 ) T4 15 ( 9 - 19 ) T3 5.9 ( 3 - 5.4 ) GP
