My mums journey with stage IV NSCLC
My dear mum was diagnosed with stage IV nsclc
Adenocarcinoma
back in July. This was found by chance on a scan for another unrelated issue. What a shock it was. She has mets to outer area of lung, mediastinum, adrenal glands, lymph. Could I be a wrong to say this could be a lot worse?

I was sure it would be nice & clean, but call it morbid humor but I was diagnosed with Stage 4 NSCLC EGFR L858R
Adenocarcinoma
. So, my life changed that day from one with no worries to one causing me to learn how to live with lung cancer.

Missed diagnosis for lung cancer.
Long story short, I ended up with pneumonia where my wonderful Thoracic Consultant found I had
Adenocarcinoma
in my upper right lobe and I had to go to a hospital 4 hours away to have a Lobectomy. I have been left with multiple health problems and a year on I still feel very ill a lot of the time.

KRAS experience?
I was diagnosed with
adenocarcinoma
, NSLC Jan of 2018. I had two tumors, one of which precluded surgery because of location near a major artery. I had chemo, cisplatin and gemetobine, to no avail.

Just received Adenocarcinoma diagnosis
Hi all you good people. I received my diagnosis on Friday. Waiting for guided CT biopsy to determine treatment plan From my research I think this might mean grading and staging? They said it would be drug treatment - no mention of an operation. Nurse also mentioned books about pallitive care to help

Does a pathologist know if adenocarcinoma is neuroendocrine by looking at the initial biopsy or is this something that is discovered later?
My initial post said that our path report said neuroendocrine and what it actually said was
Adenocarcinoma
. Sorry for the confusion you all are beyond wonderful in your efforts to educate those of us who are facing the steep learning curve! Thank you all!💛

Recurrence generic testing
I was wondering why after right middle lung lobectomy for early stage
adenocarcinoma
they did not do genetic testing? Seems it would be better to know what paths to take if it recurs. Wouldn’t it be better to know before and not have to wait for these results then? Should I feel short changed?

Trying to figure out an inscrutable doctor
My husband's had mixed ductal/
adenocarcinoma
, initial staging T2, never had a high PSA, brachyherapy and external beam radiation, and his PSA went down to .5, then slightly up to 1.2 then down, then slightly up to 1.2. 2 years ago, his CT/MRI and Bone scans showed no migration of cancer.

Surgery scheduled
The plan is for VAT surgery, right upper lobectomy to remove the nodule with
adenocarcinoma
and mediastinal lymph node dissection. And now we wait... Any recommendations for this prep time? Thank you.

Loss of PTEN
Lymph node tumor biopsy revealed
adenocarcinoma
, no NE. Genetic profiling revealed loss of PTEN. No other mutations. My question is, what else can I be doing in regards to the PTEN?
