Vit D dosage
Hi - I react badly to
Adcal
so I’m self dosing with vitamin D. I take 1000 iu plus 200 iu in my daily vitamin pill. Is that ok or too much? Advice is so contradictory I thought I’d check this out with people in the same boat! Thanks 👍

Calcium from food sources
At the minute I take two
Adcal
in the morning and two in the evening After looking into it further I wonder if I would cut down to one at each time, or none at all. But then I would be worried I wasn’t getting enough calcium. How do you know your diet is good enough!

Terrible cold - can’t shake it off...
I’m suffering my first cold since being treated for MBC and on treatment - palbociclib, letrozole,
adcal
& Denosumab injection. I had this terrible cold for a week now and I’m not feeling much better. I have a constant headache and feel so weak.

Advice on treatment for osteoporosis.
I was started on
Adcal
-D3 and alendronic acid. I stopped the Alendronate after 6 months due to aches and pains, and fatigue. I carried on with
Adcal
-D3 and took a variety of minerals: potassium, magnesium, boron, vitamin K2, and also nuts, seeds and prunes, soya milk.

lower back pain and right hip pain especially lying in bed
I have been taking alendronic acid for 2 years,
Adcal
, omega 3 and lately just started K2. My breast cancer nurse at my last mammogram when I discussed my back issues suggested I should get it x-rayed.

New GP
She has requested a Dexa scan and in the meantime has prescribed
Adcal
. She is happy to see me regularly and have regular blood tests so no rheumatologist required. After my flare the other week I have been back on 14mg and now feel better after feeling not so well on 9mg.

Further Update
He also stopped my
Adcal
as he reviewed my previous blood results and agreed that it has always been on the upper scale of normal so calcium not required. Again advised to ensure it is in my diet.. He has advised Vitamin D only and agreed that I continue with K2.

Indigestion
Quite suddenly I am getting attacks of quite fierce indigestion which seem to come after taking
AdCal
. Is it that or my body getting as fed up with Pred as I am (😀)? Has anyone else found this an issue?

New member requiring advice
I have been recently diagnosed with PMR and have been on 15mg Prednisolone for 5 weeks together with Omeprazole,
Adcal
and Alendronic Acid. Any advice on do's and don'ts would be really helpful, in particular about diet as I don't want to gain weight.

What do you think?
The hospital were very surprised as they suggested Dr should have waited for Bone scan results as
Adcal
would be sufficient in the meantime. They also said Alendronic is very strong/powerful tablet. Would appreciate any advice.

Health update
My GP prescribed
Adcal
twice a day but I take it once a day as it does cause constipation. Also took additional Vit D as my level had dropped.

I then realised that the
Adcal
already had D3! So iI went to the local pharmacist to ask him to check my dosages. He was a mature man who said he had supplied many
Adcal
tablets but no one ever had asked for vit K2.
