Abraxane
Hey everyone, Dad's on his "third line" treatment with
Abraxane
and been tolerating it pretty well. Side effects mostly have been joint and muscle pain the day or 2 after. Treatment tomorrow and next Friday and then another PET scan.

My Story
Changed to
Abraxane
, on my 8th cycle. 3 weeks on and 1 week off. Feb 4 will be 2 years, and I feel like it's a lifetime already. I read everything cancer and always look for hope for all who have gone before us, and us still fighting. God Bless You All.

I had six months of chemo. now I will tell you what chemos I had Taxatere, carblatin,

2nd recurrence. 4 chemo combos all failed. Any suggestions?
Onco suggested Alimta or
Abraxane
. I have been disappointed so much. I am soooo very tired. Last week the CA125 dropped 20 points which meant perhaps the 1st carbo/taxol worked but whats the point now I can't do taxol anymore. Is there any suggestions on what to do next.

Larry has recently featured in an advertisement (Daily Telegraph 4 November) organised by Pancreatic Cancer Action about the drug
Abraxane
and the cancer Drugs Fund. The petition now has about 20,000 signatures and if you want to support it, the link is https://pancreaticcanceraction.org/

Anisina works with standard chemo to kill cancer cells 20 times faster
This a shorthand term to describe a family of drugs that embraces mainly the taxanes (paclitaxel, docetaxel,
Abraxane
) and vinca alkaloids (
vincristine
, vinblastine, Vineralbine) and which work by blocking the ability of cells to divide (mitosis).

Has anyone else had this?
, ECX, Trabectedin, Caelyx,
Abraxane
and now just Carboplatin. She cannot take any oral medication so everything has to be IV. Her Consultant has advised against Avastin due to possible bowel perforations which could be fatal. Nothing really seems to be helping.

Waiting times for treatment of recurrence
I will be treated with
abraxane
and am quite worried as I had a severe reaction to taxol. Does anybody on here have any experience with
abraxane
. Should treatment start sooner rather than later? I know at diagnosis the cancer was very aggressive. The waiting is driving me crazy.
