Our Saga so far...and an observation about quality of care
Five months of
Abiraterone
and Xtandi have left him almost completely drained of energy. On the old ADT he kept very active, working outside every day, hiking, etc. but now he can't do much of anything.

Zoladex and Enzalutamide?
We took a long shot and asked if he could be placed on
abiraterone
along with this as the NHS are currently offering this in place of chemo but they refused but have offered him enzalutamide as an alternative. He also asked if he could be placed on zometa but she refused to put him on this.

Research Study with Niaparib in combination with Abiraterone Acetate and Prednisone
Has anyone been involved with a Research Study with Niaparib in combination with
Abiraterone
Acetate and Prednisone? I am considering It. It is double blind phase 3 study.

I Can Do an Oil Change
In other news, I completed chemo back in June, finished radiation in July, and continue on Atezolizumab, Lupron,
Abiraterone
, and Xgeva. I'm finally beginning to see glimpses of improving health as I recover from the chemo and radiation.

Abiraterone NHS
Does anybody know if the NHS offer
abiraterone
as a first line treatment along with Zoladex? Also, I hear that doing this can be beneficial. Does anybody know how so? Why would it be any better than adding it later on as a second tier? Many thanks in advance!

Abiraterone and Dietary Fat
Can anyone tell me specifically what foods interfere (amplify?) Abys effect? I understand it’s fat. Does that include only animal fat or any fat, like that associated with avocados? Also is there some minimum quantity that is required to have this effect? For example would the 1% fat milk foam I

Rucaparib in Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer With BRCA1/2 Alteration
All patients had metastatic CRPC and had been previously treated with both a taxane-containing regimen and a novel hormone such as
abiraterone
or enzalutamide. All patients had progressive disease at the time of trial entry and all patients had a pathogenic alteration in BRCA1 or BRCA2.

Adding carboplatin to chemotherapy for mCRPC in post-second generation hormone therapy setting: Impact on response and survival
New study below. [1] "We retrospectively identified 150 mCRPC patients with disease progression on enzalutamide or
abiraterone

Undetectable PSA but urinalysis show traces of blood, Leucocytes (ESTERASE) and protein present
Due to the covid situation our MO does not visit the hospital - we do telephonic consultation with him - When we forwarded the report to him he told us they were fine and to continue
abiraterone
and to hold zometa injection as we had the dental caps to replace.

Why Abiraterone over Docetaxyl
to have been put on
Abiraterone
after becoming mCRPCa as I have private care whereas the normal treatment by NHS in the UK would be Docetaxyl. I have read that docetaxyl can eliminate all cancer including bone mets and
Abiraterone
(Zytiga) only halts the progression/spread. Is this correct?

Hesitation before switching from Abiraterone to some other protocol.
I have been discussing and considering that
Abiraterone
might be failing. It seems that a steady level in the 4 range for the previous 11 months has moved to the 6 range. July lab results arrived yesterday. I switched from prednisone to dexamethasone in the last week of June.
