Now on ADT, what to add?
My medical oncologist is now suggesting adding either 6 cycles of chemotherapy (Doxetaxel) or
Abiraterone
. I have also been looking at adding either Enzalutamide (Xtandi), Darolutamide or even Apalutamide.

ADT Holiday
PSA dropped from 54.5 to 2.1 after first ADT treatment 8/21 then <.064, <0.64 <.064 for the next 3 month intervals of Lupron,
Abiraterone
, prednisone. I keep reading about ADT holidays. Under what conditions is that advisable?

Rising blood pressure
So - long version: I'm 8 months in on
Abiraterone
+Prednisone, 1000mg and 5mg daily. I also consume 50 mg daily of Losartan (25 mg twice a day) to help control my blood pressure. Losartan is an ARB. I finished radiation just before Thanksgiving.

Strength Training Problem; Advice?
My only therapy for mPC DX 4 years ago has been ADT (Lupron &
abiraterone
). So far so good in that my PSA remains < 0.1 and occasional imaging indicates that my upper spine met isn’t growing. I’ve learned to live with all the usual SEs. Immediately after DX, I stepped up my exercising at the gym.

My Mother’s BC
I’m on Lupron,
Abiraterone
, and prednisone to stop the spread. I received scan throughout my diagnosis stage. I just found it odd there is a rush to remove her tumor without determining if it had spread. All comments are appreciated. Thank you!

Abiraterone+PARP inhibitor better than abiraterone alone for mCRPC
The combo was very effective in one trial (but not in the other trial), even among those with no DNA-repair defects (like BRCA). The trials used different PARP inhibitors and the patients were different. https://www.prostatecancer.news/2022/06/abirateroneparp-inhibitor-better-than.html PARP inhibitors

ADT Holiday Unexpected Consequences
After stopping Lupron and then, 5 months later
abiraterone
/dexamethasone, I began to experience what I believe to be arthritis joint pains. Not only in my hips (previously diagnosed with degenerative osteoarthritis) but other joints as well.

Enough is Enough - Alicia Morgans, MD, MPH,
Data providing an option for a broader population of patients followed soon thereafter, with LATITUDE and STAMPEDE both providing evidence that ADT plus
abiraterone
acetate improved both overall survival and maintained or improved QOL for patients with mHSPC when compared with ADT alone.

Good News-But Do I Belong Here?
Trial was Lupron,
abiraterone
, Taxotere and 37 IMRT sessions. If it were today, I would have access to better scans and avoided the RP, which I probably should have done anyway. This is in the past.

An Update on my SBRT given with ADT experiment... so far....so good...
I had 2 more session of SBRT on the 20th and 22nd and started back on
abiraterone
with prednisone on the 23rd... Since then, the hot flashes returned and I had my first f/u PSA at the local hospital on 7/8--3 weeks later... and my PSA was <.06 or undetectable by the hospital standards...

65th bday last Sunday (Dx'd in 2015) Did 65 miles over two months with Bonnie and did a bday 5k. #10 Cabazitaxel right now, just got Lupron
Taxotere failed in 2021, so did
Abiraterone
and then Xtandi in 2020. May be time for a PSMA scan, since I'm on Kaiser Medicare now, then biopsy if large enough. Maybe send out for genetic testing too. https://youtu.be/U3sMjm9Eloo Still ticking gang! Fight on Randy
