Uncaring medical professionals
Having been told by an endocrinologist, that my best option was RAI I submitted myself to it. Not knowing it would lead to obesity, for which I can get no help. One nurse practitioner suggested that I eat less, she was unaware that I eat the bare minimum. This is awful, as I have arthritis throughout

Reversed my Hashimoto's with dietary and lifestyle changes
I was diagnosed about three years ago with Hashimoto's. All my thyroid hormone levels were normal but my anti-TPO antibodies were out of range. I had all the usual symptoms: fatigue, weight gain and then the inability to lose weight, hair loss, dry skin, you name it. I also developed severe cold urticaria

Iodine for Underactive Thyroid
Hi. I just wondered, has anybody used iodine for underactive thyroid? I’ve seen supplements for it, but I’ve read reports that it can make things worse so I just thought I’d put the question out there. Thank you.

Just read the thyroid UK article but it feels kind of bemusing It says "The plan was for Jo to stay on carbimazole for two years but it seemed that most people needed either surgery or radioactive iodine after that anyway so Josef asked if he could have treatment right away, and the doctor agreed. Unplug sleeping aid
Sleep is poor at present so this is a long shot. Does anyone use this product? It’s vegan with a blend of botanicals and minerals. I have used it successfully before but don’t know if it’s ok with AFib. It has small quantities of magnesium citrate and zinc picolinate. I know to be careful with amount

Gadolinium vs Iodine for Radiation Treatment
Gadolinium vs Iodine for Radiation Treatment A long-standing problem with cancer radiation therapy is that it is not effective at the center of tumors where oxygen levels are low due to the lack of blood vessels penetrating deeply into the tissue. X-ray irradiation needs oxygen to generate DNA-damaging

Underdosed with Armour
I have a couple of questions regarding people’s experience with Armour Thyroid after reformulation. A quick history: I have MS (diagnosed in 1981) and Grave’s Disease (hyperthyroidism) (diagnosed in 1986). Thyroid ablation with RAI in 1987. On Synthroid for over a year during which I was basically non-functional

Advice please?
I had a TT in Sept 21. Follicular and no subsequent RAI. I’ve been monitoring my bloods and Vit levels and these are my latest results. My ferritin and cortisol remains high and I don’t know why? Also my T3 concerns me. It has remained at this level even when I was on higher dose but T4 was 22 I am on

Hi, I have just received these results. The report said I have subclinical hypothyroidism. I had RAI nearly 3 years ago due to graves , should I be worried that my levels are like this or should I just increase my dose? Thanks

Heartburn
Hi, I hope someone can advise please? I take 100mcg eltroxin, hypothyroid following RAI for Hyper/Graves. I've been struggling with heartburn for a while now. Was originally put on pantoprazole by g.p. then slowly weaned myself off as I was concerned about being on it for years, doctors don't seem concerned

Returning to a Patient-Centered Approach in the Management of Hypothyroidism
If you watch the sea, as the tide goes out it seems to take forever. You keep thinking that it really must be low-tide. But it keeps receding. Eventually there comes a point at which it does just about stop going out, and maybe the odd stronger wave comes in a touch further than the one before. This

Propylthiouracil - Safety of long term use.
I have been taking Propylthiouracil for a year now. I have been advised that I should now consider RAI or surgery as my consultant does not advise the continued long term use of medication in someone of my age (56). Does anyone have any experience of taking the medication long term? FT3 - 6.8 (3.1-

No Longer on Medication
Not sure what happened.... About two years ago, NatureThroid began to (what I know now) start to be too much / overdosing. TSH was still climbing, but increasing dosage caused tremendous chest / heart pains. Not surprisingly Doctor said “it’s because we don’t know how much T3 and how much T4 is in
