After radical prostectomy

In 2015 I was told I had stage 1 prostate cancer. I went thru all these thoughts, about dying. So I started looking for answers online. My doctor told me about robotic prostectomy so I opted for it. After the surgery I got depressed because of the side effects but now in November it's gonna be 2 years I'm now able to wear regular under wear, and doing great. Only thing I can't get used to is no more erections or the fact I'm steral now. The only thing keeping me going is I'm alive and cancer free. And that's better then dying

You are correct to focus on the positive! Yes there are things that you can no longer do, but you are still here! One of the "gifts" of cancer is that it makes you appreciate the here and now.

My cancer is a bit more advanced (Stage 4D1, Ductal) and so are my treatments. While the side effects really suck, I am thankful for them. It means that I am still here. I focus on the things I can still do, push myself to keep going the things that are getting harder to do and look back with fondness not sadness for the things I can no longer do.

Have you tried penile injection therapy? Trimix or bimix. It's confronting at first but you get used to it fast. It works well for most, but not all men.

Unfortunately if you've had no erections for two years, that's a long time without the stretching or extra blood intp the penis and it might have problems.

I'm glad to hear that you can now wear normal underwear, but the impotence sucks. I'm interested to know how this came about. I am collecting stories on this in a bid to improve erectile dysfunction services here. Would you mind telling me if you were told about "nerve sparing" surgery. What information were you given about erectile recovery after surgery? We're you offered anything to help recovery. As it's now 2 years it's a bit late as others have said. You could however try a vacuum pump to try to recover the vascular damage, you can also use one to have sex! Penile injections, as a last resort will help

If you use a vacuum pump, get a proper prescribed one not a cheap advertised one. Don't give up on it just yet, find an erectile dysfunction clinic.

I'm surprised no-one has offered help with regaining some sexual feeling. After mine, I was referred to another specialist who offered injections to achieve erections, a "pump", and my GP prescribes a form of Viagra. Do not give up until you have followed these options up

Had op 31may, out of pads 2/3 weeks, had nerve sparing 1 side but still no erections, although i cycle quite a bit that helped big time with recovery. On bike 4//5wks. Find after hard indoor session penis gets 80/90 erect. Which would have been similar before surgery would have had full erection then.
