Gosh! I am so UNFIT and INFLEXIBLE. S&F level 1.

OK, so I can now run 20 minutes non-stop thanks to C25K, but I cannot pick up my right foot with my right hand and bring it up anywhere near my right buttock, nor can I do it on the left side.

OK, so I can swim 60 lengths backstroke non-stop, but I simply cannot do a squat without sticking my bum out (which Laura says I'm not to do).

First time trying out this routine. Took me absoultely ages as I was doing it indoors, using an uncalibrated magnetic treadmill (i.e. the belt kept slipping and wandering off at will, so I repeatedly had to put Laura on pause to deal with it). Felt a twit walking around the house otherwise, so must get this thing sorted out before the next session on Monday.

The warm-up rowing and shoulder press exercises had me in hysterics... a bit like tapping your head with one hand and drawing circles on your stomach with the other. I couldn't get the co-ordination right. As soon I was "rowing", my feet stopped and vice-versa.

Definitely a challenge. Looked so simple in the videos.

Broomstick on chairs instead of railings worked fine, though I couldn't manage a full pull-up, only from my hips upwards (i.e. bum firmly stuck to the ground). Even so I could really feel those muscles working. Will try to find suitable railings somewhere and do the pull-ups properly whenever I can.

Enjoyed the calf and hamstring stretches.

I find scrunching my trouser fabric to hold my leg in position helps, or hooking my hand into the back of my shoe. Putting my hand in front of my ankle is not something I can usually manage.

Thanks for the tip. Hand slips on trouser material... I think I'll chop up old long sock to form a ring and slip that over my ankle...

Nice to see there's a bit of input on this blog...

That's a great idea. Since I started doing yoga I've seen that assistance in the form of belts is considered quite OK. Come to think of it, for this exercise it might be yet another use for a buff.

What's a buff? Good idea that about a belt...

A buff is a sort of tube (!!!) you can use as a scarf, hat, balaclava.... mine's pink!

So's mine and I'm wearing it now. Good to know what it's called... out of touch at times. Thanks.

I use the play equipment in the childrens park for my railings. But only if nobody is looking!
