Personal markers reflection

I hope this doesn't sound like bragging - it's a post that should be read with a high pitched note of disbelief πŸ™‚

About ten months ago some of you may remember that Realfoodieclub encouraged us to think of three personal goals to aim for - short medium and long term healthunlocked.com/strength... Looking back I see I wanted to:

1. Add regular yoga sessions 2 to 3 times a week - I am now following Yoga with Adriene and have been doing yoga every day for almost 90 days βœ”

2. Restart my strength exercises to get my weak left leg as strong as the right - hmm, I haven't really done this, but I have added regular cycling and yoga and some strength sessions so it should at least be less weak now (I'm taking this as a winπŸ€ͺ)βœ”

3. Reduce my waist measurement to below the NHS recommendation - I am now well within guidelines having lost 2 to 3 inches since that post!

Wow! At the time I didn't really imagine I'd achieve all three. Just goes to show how possible the seemingly impossible can be with the right support and encouragement 😍

Wow, you’ve really smashed those goals Linda, fantastic! I forget what mine were, but I know I’m fitter and stronger than this time last year. And more flexible - as even though I’ve done yoga for 2 years now, coupling it with running has really made a difference. πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

That's the thing, I haven't really focussed on them as a target or end result. It's more that these markers have shown me just how many positive changes I've made over the last 10 months. And I guess that's exactly what a personal marker should be πŸ™‚

Yep, that magic combination of yoga plus running been an amazing discovery for me quite recently. Glad you’re feeling the benefits-have a great time. Whether or not you have goals, maybe that doesn’t matter. Just being in the zone is enough?

That waist measurement is so good isn’t it? mine went down with running and i didn’t expect that

Brilliant! I've never measured my waist until someone posted on here about the NHS guidelines - Sadie-runs I think. I was so close to the wrong side of the guideline that the thought stayed with me.

I’m not sure what the guidelines are but mine went from 31 inches to 28 inches and there is less hanging over my jeans

Thats fantastic. Mine currently measures 28 inches and looking back at that post mine was probably around 31 back then. We have every right to be chuffed I think 😍

Hmmm. Not sure it was me, but then again I have an appalling memory! In other news, I lost a few inches off my waist by running alone! Took about a year though. Well done on reaching all your goals, Linda, you are fantastic! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

This is positive and motivating for others who have goals, well done with your progress, especially yoga for 90 days, that is superb! You've given me loads of inspiration over the months and I want to celebrate in your wins too so I am glad you posted, it's not bragging at all, it is helpful!

Go Linda! Great news...you certainly spent your time on the IC well, and have come back strongly and kept up with all the yoga and cycling which is fab! All goals met....and you have inspired me and many others I'm sure.🌟😍 Super!

I took a look back at my goals, and am still a work in progress. I am now doing daily Strength and Flex exercise though and I have run three Parkruns.

That Is fantastic, well done! It’s not bragging, it’s so encouraging to hear how you got on. It’s thanks to your original post that I started 30 days yoga with Adriene. Now on day 14. That plus doing C25K last year and starting Parkrun in December have literally transformed my level of both physical and mental health. You’re inspiring me with your post πŸ‘thank you.
