New challenge starting this week.

How are we all doing. We seem to have a dedicated little band of S&Flexers here, which is great.

It doesn’t matter if you achieved your last goals the main purpose of the challenge is to keep trying.

So again anything you want it to be to help keep you motivated.

Please feel free to join in.

So this time I am going to stick with what is working for me and that is one mega session a week. I have been doing it now for three weeks every week and I love it so I want to keep going for the near future.

Race walk to the gym

Weights session

Staitionary Bike session

Stretch session including three sets of planks (I’m now up to 30 seconds)

Swim

Walk home

Tuesday rest.😳.

Each section is no more than 20 mins with some only being 10 min . It really seems to be making me stronger.

Wow Rfc! That sounds really good - well done 😀. I have lapsed during the last few weeks due to moving house from one end of the country to the other! Now trying to get back into a routine but struggling 😕

Go easy on yourself. Moving takes its toll in so many ways. I’m sure you will find your new routine soon. Wishing you a happy time in your new home 😀.

I am a Newbie here, but not to sister communities, C25k, bridge and marathon.Been there for a year.

Still looking around S&F here and the nhs live well link.

Like the above I consider this and these magic communities as gifts, just like the gift to run.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the Lovely Laura presenting bench dips and tree stand up chest presses as our little Green Gym Group do each Friday in a beautiful coastal park.

RFC’s outside and skyesue16’s home move sparked me off.

Immediately thought of the benefits of getting outside and doing low intensity cardiovascular and strength exercises with minimal equipment, only rubber bands, that can also be done very comfortably at home in busy times.Of course you will not get your vit d. and all other benefits of a group, eg.

As a senior who normally does 7x one hour strength sessions per week, 7x one hour 5k trots per day and 35k/ week, one mixed one hour green gym session per week, I was pleased to read under nhs live well, how much strength🤔,to do and that the older you get the more you need to do.

I knew the nhs recommended amount of strength is 150 mins week.

So I am happy and comfortable to be doing 450 mins and loving it.

3 times the recommended for me I do not consider unreasonable at 75.

Looking forward to learning more from both S&F and nhs live well and perhaps and possibly adding some green gym exercises providing they are different to the existing inventory, and do not duplicate the existing inventory but add to it and only if it was of interest.🤔

Atb to everyone with your plans.

It is a quiet little forum but don’t be fooled there are lots of members looking everyday. Your green gym sounds amazing. Well done on those activity stats, very impressive. Age is just a number, my Dad who is in his mid 80’s started going to the gym last year after having a fall and he loves it. 😀.

Thanks RFC, and well done your Dad.🌟

Your right RFC, I have two aunts 100 &102, and although no gym, both of them are as sharp as tacks, grateful for all the blessings bestowed and I think the number they use, if any, is minus 4-8 decades.🤔

Hope you are good.👊💥🏃‍♀️🌟👏👏
