Aching muscles

I've been working out most mornings, combination of yoga and exercise dvds. I'm definitely stronger and lost two stone since September, but my muscles seem to hurt. What should I be doing to help recovery?

I am a yoga teacher (of 15+ years' standing) and can only comment on that aspect, but do make sure you are doing the moves correctly. It is easy to hurt yourself if not. Try to become more aware of what you are doing AS you are doing it. Yoga should not hurt - either at the time or after. I totally agree with what Concerned said about doing it in a slow, controlled manner. Momentum gives the illusion that you are doing more and better, but the opposite is likely to be true.

Do less for longer until your body wants more. Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks so much. It has happened since I started insanity , a few times a week, which is very fast. I was surprised as I felt so much stronger and have been working out for a long time. I've had a few rest days and feel a lot better. Trying to keep motivated and not skip too many workouts. Thanks for all the feedback.
