It’s 8 weeks since my surgery can anyone tell me do they still feel as though they have a really tight band around their knee even though they have nothing their!! I’m bending my knee beautifully but the tightening upsets me and is uncomfortable!

If you are walking fairly normally and your Range of Motion of your knees and hips have normalized then it sounds like your having a positive post surgical rehab. It takes on average about 4 months for the new knee to feel normal.... discomfort, stiffness, feeling swollen, clicking and fatigue are often reported by others who are 8 weeks post surgery.
I would consider going to a therapist( massage, physical etc...) who performs lymphatic massage. This is a gentle type of bodywork that can help reduce or resolve the symptoms you describe.
